When any of my children began to show signs of getting sick, we would peel a clove at least for each person and give each child a piece of bread. Then we put a dollop of sour cream on a plate, my children would dip the bread in sour cream and take a small bite of garlic until the garlic and bread were all finished. We don’t always get punished for not making choices our parents want us to make. Wait a minute, some parents are like that. If we behave, they love us and if we don’t, well………. The religious take on God is more human, loving and judgemental, forgiving and punishing, more like us humans. Didn’t God give us free will? Should we be punished for minor bad choices and major bad choices?

It’s hard to believe school is starting next week for the rest of the kids in town most have started but the public school is usually last it seems earlier to me! And yours truly starts school herself in September.
