Thursday, February 12, 2015. Bleeding Hearts Day Challenge 2015. Bleeding Hearts Day is My time to appreciate the truly gifted. Unleashing admiration for. Those who pump creative passion, bleeding endlessly , for eternity. I am fortunate to have been born while literature and speech was highly valued. Words, in books or music had power, emotion, purpose. Events of time fade, but a word , a quote from a Bleeding Heart, takes you to that forgotten time. Intrigue me . Why? Art and Quote by William Blake.

Existing in a World of Silence: Creating the World We Live In

Friday, June 12, 2015. Creating the World We Live In. Last night I was discussing the town I grew up in with my mother who is now 80 years old and who lives in the house my grandparents built back in 1950. This was, as many Midwest US towns were in the early part of the 20th century, a factory town. Steel and glass to be precise. So, in talking with mom about the old days, I realized that we had totally different ideas of what the town was like. So this is my point. If I showed you images of the town I g...

Friday, April 10, 2015. SHADOWS oF oZ * *. The Wizard of Oz" , my first feelings of this epic film were unsettling. Not that black and white film gave everything an eerie feeling, but that I was filled with questions, and as any child of the 50's , no explanations to be had, so as the questions built up, I would seek the answers in the 60's! Laced with lessons for the undeveloped minds, adults that shone bright and wheeled magic sticks. Controlled the many. Why was Elinora there, that fateful day? View m...

Sunday, October 12, 2014. Grumpus Garden Gnome #2. Here's a peek at the second of my Grumpus Garden Figurines. I am relly liking the idea of making them all self-appointed royalty of the garden-sphere. So, in keeping with that idea, let me introduce you to Prince Daikonderoga. I'll be adding a little radish crown before he is ready but I love this guy! First time I've added teeth to a figure and so, the leaf sticking out of the mouth just seemd only right too! That's it for today! Tuesday, October 7, 2014.

Saturday, April 25, 2015. Rue de La Minuscule. It's not like I don't already have enough on the creative fire to keep me busy. . . but, truth be told, the more "have to's" that are beckoning. . . custom orders, replacing favorites and requests. . . the more I want to do something completely new or different and get lost in another direction! It's been awhile this time but I thought I would go ahead and try something in a very small scale again and see where it took me. Rue de la minuscule is just 4.5...

Cindy Adkins.Art, Books, Tea. Finding Beauty in the Ordinary. Monday, October 29, 2012. I first want to tell all my friends and fellow bloggers who live in the path of Hurricane Sandy that I'm praying for your safety. I hope and pray it's not as bad as predicted, but the pictures I'm seeing on television look very scary. Here in Ohio, we're already having very strong winds, although nothing like the east coast, of course. Stay safe and well, everyone. Do you celebrate Halloween, and if so, how? I want to...

Cindy Adkins.Art, Books, Tea. Finding Beauty in the Ordinary. Monday, April 29, 2013. I've been absent from blogging and I have no excuse! The days seem to go by so fast and I've had "spring fever." April has been a crazy-weather month, but I think it's finally settling down. Now, the trees have tiny new green leaves and the daffodils and tulips have popped open. I love this time of year! It has a 3/4 mile, easy trail - which is perfect for me right now. I got lazy over the winter, and I do mean lazy!
