Taste and See God's Goodness: Doro Wat (Ethiopian Chicken Stew)
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2010/03/doro-wat-ethiopian-chicken-stew.html
Thursday, March 4, 2010. Doro Wat (Ethiopian Chicken Stew). I tried out an Ethiopian recipe on my family earlier this week in preparation for our church's International Dinner on Friday night. I found it in Mary Ostyn's Family Feasts for $75. She and her husband have adopted children from Ethiopia and have incorporated cuisine from that country into their family's menus. One thing I noticed very quickly is that Ethiopian food is spicy! The recipe calls for boneless chicken thighs to be cooked and added, ...

Taste and See God's Goodness: Loaded Jambalaya
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2011/07/loaded-jambalaya.html
Friday, July 22, 2011. I call this Loaded Jambalaya because it's loaded with three kinds of meat - chicken, sausage, and shrimp. Most people just pick one of the above when preparing jambalaya, but the flavor each ones gives this dish is incredible. It helped that I was trying to use up leftovers, too. I had just a little of everything, but it all worked together well. Here's what you'll need:. 1 stalk celery, chopped. 1/2 onion, diced. 1/2 green or red pepper, diced. 1 1/2 cups chicken broth. Cheesy Chi...

Taste and See God's Goodness: Mom's Lasagna
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2012/05/moms-lasagna.html
Wednesday, May 30, 2012. My mom is famous for her lasagna. We requested it for nearly every birthday dinner as we were growing up. She makes it for families in her church who are bereaved or who have just had a baby. And it's the first meal she ever prepared for my husband when I brought him home to meet my parents. Even now, when we head there for a visit, it's often on the menu. Here's what you need:. 1 lb ground beef, browned and drained. 5-6 cups spaghetti sauce (she uses Ragu). 2 TBSP dried oregano.

Taste and See God's Goodness: Moroccan Chicken
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2015/04/moroccan-chicken.html
Thursday, April 9, 2015. I love Middle Eastern dishes, especially easy ones. This recipe combines wonderful flavors with simple preparation, making it a perfect weeknight dinner. The rub can be applied to the chicken in the morning and then left in the fridge to marinate all day. It takes about 30 minutes to finish and cook in the evening. 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs. 2 teas dried parsley. 1 teas garlic powder. 1 teas sea salt. Heat a little olive oil in an oven proof skillet until very hot...

Taste and See God's Goodness: Make Ahead Swedish Meatballs
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2014/01/make-ahead-swedish-meatballs.html
Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Make Ahead Swedish Meatballs. I love having meals that I can make ahead and freeze for my family. This meal is actually only partially made ahead - the meatball part. The yummy spiced gravy is made at serving time, but it's really easy and only takes a few minutes. Here's what you need:. 1 lb ground beef. 1 lb ground pork. 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs. 1/4 cup cream (you can sub milk). 1/4 cup minced onion (dry minced onion works fine here). 1 teas garlic powder. 1 teas sea salt.

Taste and See God's Goodness: Menu Plan June 1-7
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2015/05/menu-plan-june-1-7.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Menu Plan June 1-7. It's hard to believe this is the first week of June! I'm enjoying the longer daylight hours and the appearance of fireflies in our yard. Not as fond of the humid Alabama temps, but thank the good Lord for air conditioning! Our church is conducting our annual Vacation Bible School this week, so we'll be on the go. Plus my sweet hubby is celebrating his birthday on Tuesday, so we're going to postpone the celebration until VBS is over. Oven roasted brussel sprouts.

Taste and See God's Goodness: Menu Plan July 6-12
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2015/07/menu-plan-july-6-12.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. Menu Plan July 6-12. Did everyone have a great Fourth of July? We kept our celebration low-key. It rained much of the weekend so it was cooler than normal for this time of year. We grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and pork chops then watched the Disney World firework display online since rain washed our community's fireworks out. Even though it was not a huge to-do this year, we enjoyed our family downtime. This week is shaping up to be a busy one. Chicken pot pie, mashed potatoes.

Taste and See God's Goodness: Pretzel Dogs
http://tasteandseegodsgoodness.blogspot.com/2014/03/pretzel-dogs.html
Saturday, March 8, 2014. Recently our local Walmart added an Auntie Anne's pretzel shop to the front of the store. Right by the exit. So you have to walk past it. Unless you try to avoid temptation and walk all the way over to the other side to exit, like I have been doing. So I just decided to halve that recipe for the pretzel crust. So, here's what you need:. 3/4 cup warm water. 1 and 1/8 teas yeast. 2 to 2 1/4 cups unbleached flour. 2 TBSP melted butter or olive oil. 1 teas sea salt. Pkg of 8 hot dogs.
