I find it interesting that when we're faced with a depiction of what is a relatively common view, we as a nation are (rightfully) up in arms and horrified. There's been a huge backlash against immigrants over the last five years or so. I think that this sort of behaviour, especially the "Why doesn't she go home? Style comments, is a product of our Daily Mail culture.
