Tracking My Study of the Japanese Language. Japanese has three, potentially four (depending if you count Romaji), different systems of writing. They are:. Hiragana – One of two phonetic syllabaries used in Japanese. It is used to write native Japanese words. Example: ありがとう. Katakana – One of two phonetic syllabaries used in Japanese. It is used to write foreign, or loan, words. Example: コンピュータ. As a reference, here are some charts for Hiragana and Katakana (taken from magnifythelord.org. Trackback ( 0 ).

I know its because facebook is such a quick and easy way to stay in touch with people and post pics. But, its not at all the journal that a blog can be.
