Wednesday, May 12, 2010. The Fence My Father Built = 52 down, 48 to go. The Fence My Father Built. We all go through that period in our life where we're not sure where exactly we fit in, where we belong. Muri Pond's marriage has just ended, and she has packed up her two children and moves them to a dilapitted trailer on an Indian reservation with her aunt and uncle. Muri's father, who was part Native American, has recently passed away and left his legacy to Muri. It was an interesting book with insight i...

Sunday, June 27, 2010. I've moved and renamed my book blog. Unfortunately, I continued to have an inordinate amount of issues with Blogger. Radical Domesticity: fake ice cream for dinner
http://radicaldomesticity.blogspot.com/2010/08/fake-ice-cream-for-dinner.html
A home life - shared. Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Fake ice cream for dinner. Today has been one of those days. I am withholding the boring details. All you really need to know is that I resorted to eating fake ice cream (the soy-based stuff) for dinner. I could have heated up some soup or made due with more of what I had for lunch. But I was just not feeling it. My only excuse is that we ran out of pasta. Meat Sauce for Pasta. Based on The Best Light Recipe by the Editors of Cook’s Illustrated. Add liquid...

February 22, 2010 at 10:20 AM. Love it. and you are a graceful and warm host. Ill send you pictures later today so you can add visuals! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Radical Domesticity: January 2010
http://radicaldomesticity.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A home life - shared. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Here in NC, if there is a “snow event,” things tend to shut down quickly. The roads are not easily cleared and there are too few plows and salt trucks. So here we are, at home, staring at a blanket of snow outside. Tuna Chickpea Salad with Lemon and Capers. 1 6-ounce can tuna, packed in water, drained. 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained. 2-3 stalks celery, chopped fine. Pinch red pepper flakes. 1-2 Tbsp olive oil. Saturday, January 30, 2010.

Radical Domesticity: Foundations
http://radicaldomesticity.blogspot.com/2010/09/foundations.html
A home life - shared. Sunday, September 19, 2010. I am digging this weekend. On Friday we got a new mattress. For the first time in years I am not sleeping on something shaped like a hotdog bun. Yesterday I woke up after precisely 8 hours of sleep, totally refreshed, sans backache. Yes! I was so astounded I tipped 50%. Good friends, a game of Apples to Apples, good sleep, a decent haircut: all of these have added up to an impressively satisfying and relaxing foundation that carried into today.

Bibliomania: Star Trek: Nero - Number 1-4 = 53 down, 47 to go
http://bibliomaniatoday.blogspot.com/2010/06/star-trek-nero-number-1-4-53-down-47-to.html
Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Star Trek: Nero - Number 1-4 = 53 down, 47 to go. Star Trek: Nero - Numbers 1-4. I grew up in a family comprised of four members who are all Star Trek fans. As long as I can remember, we've gone as a family to see the movies soon after they open. We own them all - first as VCR tapes, now as DVDs. And we've always watched them repeatedly. For a Star Trek fan, it was an enjoyable read. Posted using BlogPress from my iPad. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.
