Zanak: October 2007
http://zanak.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
There are some real people in the world, and some who are pretend. A long time ago). Tuesday, October 30, 2007. We had a 5.2 magnitude earthquake nearby this evening. It was pretty scary, the whole building shook and wobbled a lot. Some of my CDs and DVDs fell over. This was the largest tremor I've experienced in two and a half years of living in an earthquake zone. Retirement at 16, why were we so earnest? The second exercise was much more ambitions, we were supposed to make our own TV programme. Th...

Zanak: Sad Halloween
http://zanak.blogspot.com/2008/10/sad-halloween.html
There are some real people in the world, and some who are pretend. A long time ago). Thursday, October 30, 2008. I can't really understand quite why Halloween is such a big deal here in the US. When we were in a Diner in San Francisco on September 30 they were already putting up the Halloween decorations. Wells Fargo (local bank) was full of fake plastic spiders and scary signs, "Fear here", etc. Actually I think that Banks are scary enough just now without the fake spiders. View my complete profile.

Newer posts →. Iran: glass and ceramics. November 24, 2013. One of a series of photo-based posts documenting a trip that my mum and I recently took to Iran. My excitement at being in that beautiful country meant that I sometimes missed the details in our guides talks, so apologies for any incorrect info or mislabeling of photos! After flying into Tehran, we spent our first day wandering the streets surrounding our hotel, which encompassed the wonderful Abgineh Museum of glassware and ceramics. Cut-glass ...

Zanak: Bang
http://zanak.blogspot.com/2008/10/bang.html
There are some real people in the world, and some who are pretend. A long time ago). Thursday, October 23, 2008. I had to get into Sun's office in Menlo Park on Tuesday, I'm glad it was not Wednesday instead. This area of Interstate 880 is just down the road from where we live, a car swerved into a tanker and the tanker fell over and blew up. Amazingly, the tanker driver was able to walk away and no one was hurt. Unfortunately the road was closed most of the day, causing traffic chaos in the area. A shor...

Laquo; confessions and no photos. Calling a spade a spade. September 13, 2011. Grammatically poor but emotionally strong? My birth story: 4 hours from nothing much, to waters breaking, contractions 2 minutes apart, to birth. Nothing happened that day, except that mum and I re-lived sitting in a hospital room together, getting the giggles and not being able to shut up. Second lot of prostaglandin got postponed ‘til morning as I needed some sleep/rest at least. Instead she yanked (good! I’d just put the ph...

Laquo; birth story. Calling a spade a spade. February 27, 2012. Except that that spade may be postnatal depression or ME and winter related depression. Who knows where what starts and stops. It’s definitely reactive though. There’s been stress from (some) family, expecting more than I can give and not listening. Having a baby has brought people out of their holes, once. stirring up mixed emotions but mainly that of how immaterial material things are. I’ve beeaten myself up for not coping better....

Soxchik: Rhinebeck Roadtrip: Part Two
http://soxchik.blogspot.com/2014/11/rhinebeck-roadtrip-part-two.html
Sunday, November 02, 2014. Rhinebeck Roadtrip: Part Two. Saturday morning we got up early like it was Christmas or something. We ate quickly and hightailed it up route 9 to the Dutchess County fairgrounds. We heard that lines and parking lots were an issue, and we wanted to get a good start on this yarntastic day. There was a line. We were towards the front of it and could actually see the gate. So far, so good. None of us bought fleeces, but the fleece vending area was a hot bed of craziness. My rolling...
