the Siphon: April 2009
http://wundra.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Friday, April 17, 2009. I've been ignoring the outside world for nearly a month. Quite a few things have been going on, though nothing particularly earth shattering. My work has been consuming days and days, so that suddenly I find myself more than half through April! Since my last post, I have had midterms and reports, parent-teacher interviews, a birthday (! And a trip to Florida. Enough of my blabber, here are some pics:. MUCH better than Memphis!

the Siphon: leprechauns and plastic flowers
http://wundra.blogspot.com/2009/06/leprechauns-and-plastic-flowers.html
Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Saturday, June 06, 2009. Leprechauns and plastic flowers. Something was stolen from all of us. This death is harder in some ways than the last. It was very immediate: we were with this boy at school in the afternoon awards assembly. A stray puppy ran in the open door and climbed onto his back while he lay on the floor. We all laughed - he laughed, his friends, the teachers, everyone! I've been roaming around. Always looking down at all I see.

Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Saturday, May 23, 2009. In lieu of a permanent plane trip out of here, I am planning to take off to Europe for a big chunk of my summer. I desperately need a change of scenery and some anonymous time at large in the world will do me good. I will also be moving into a 2-bedroom unit - alone! At the end of it all, I will be better-traveled and have enough resources stashed that I can make a more stable transition to a new city and job. To spend the nights...

the Siphon: September 2009
http://wundra.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Sunday, September 20, 2009. Memories of summers past. One of many bell towers in Avignon. I do love the colour of the rock (sandstone, I believe, or a pink limestone), especially with sunset or sunrise shining on it. From the top of the cliff staircase, looking over the vineyard of the Palais, the Pont across the Rhône, to the later dwelling of the Pope, of which I forget the name. A portion of wall, blended with the natural cliff face. Hello to anyone ...

Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Canadians, does it bother you to see commercials for morning products (breakfast sausage, orange juice, all-bran, etc) with brilliant sunshine streaming in the windows? It irritates me SO MUCH. Seriously, how much of the year does anybody actually get to wake up and get ready for work in sunshine? Saturday, January 24, 2009. There's no place like home. Now I need to dream up some fantastic things I can do here. I was surpris...

Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Tuesday, October 06, 2009. I never did put up more pics from the Europe, did I? Forgive me. I will do it some weekend when I have the need to remember such wonderful, hot, sunny times in French. :). In the meantime, I thought I'd bring you up to date about what's been going on above the treeline. My leadership initiative is up and running, imaavi. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). the Siphon: December 2008
http://wundra.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Thursday, December 18, 2008. Well, I am poised on the night before the last day of school before the break. I cannot wait to get out for a couple of weeks. This place is making me crazy. Tonight was the Christmas Concert, and I am so happy to report that it is over. I'm not motivated to do anything for me right now. The Me part of my life is pretty much flat-line. Saturday, December 13, 2008. D Can't wait to be south. I'll be home in a week! My project,...

Fighting gravity and other incontrovertible forces. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Golly, I'm so proud. That's three days' work right there. 18 inches of glorious geometrics. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Hey there, sorry for the silence. This year is so busy. We've had over 20 inches of snow in the last week - and more to come tonight! I'm learning to weave! Seriously tricky - I've done maybe 8 inches in two days, and apparently I'm something of a prodigy. I'm off to Iqaluit again this weekend! Wow what a li...
