The second George Stewart lived at Mains of Skeith during this period with his wife Jean and their children Linda, George, Michael, Christine and Carol. A new Massey Ferguson 2640. 4wd tractor complete with a full set of weights was purchased from Morayshire Tractors for the price of 19,545 plus VAT @ 15% 2931.75 - total 22,476.75. This was the largest tractor in the area at that time, and continued to be used on the farm for 13 years.

The world famous Mains of Fintry Pipe Band was founded in 1972 and has played at large events. All over the world, including the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008,. Performed for Pope Benedict XVI in Princes Street, Edinburgh in 2010, the RICOH Women's. British Open at Carnoustie in July, 2011 and was invited to take part in the Independence Day.
