Powered by LiveJournal.com. Tuesday morning:start to notice the occasional contraction in back/tightening across stomach. assume braxton hicks. Tuesday afternoon, around 5pm realise these lower back contractions have been steady since 4, continue to assume braxton hicks. Tuesday evening: call into birth suite. sounds like onset of early labour. panadol no help. attempt to sleep. sort of vaguely succeed, nesting in cushions. February meta-blogging - Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz. Feb 5th, 2013 12:17 am. Several people have suggested I move off LiveJournal because it has a negative prestige aura surrounding it and a lot of people are unwilling to read or link to LiveJournals. It might bring someone into disrepute or something, or even offend patients and destroy the therapeutic relationship. So things I need to know:. 1 What blogging platforms are good? And this is my current top contender for future blog name. If...

Tue, Feb. 8th, 2011, 01:39 am. Blocking Windows Media Player's Folder.jpg. If you use Windows Media Player under Windows 7 (say, because all media players are terrible, but this one at least vaguely integrates with the system), you may have noticed it has the worst heuristics for album art ever. The problem (well,. If you have a folder of random MP3s from creative types on the Internets you can perhaps see how this could go wrong. Note that if you try to feed. Command. Then (separately, else you won'...

Wed, Dec. 15th, 2010, 11:27 am. So much for getting the PhD over with for Christmas. Viva delayed some more until next year. Barely coherent with rage. Wed, Dec. 15th, 2010 02:44 pm (UTC). I didn't spend nine years in Evil Computing School to be called 'mister', thank you very much. - LionsPhil's Journal of Occasional Doom

Mon, Jun. 20th, 2011, 10:20 pm. I didn't spend nine years in Evil Computing School to be called 'mister', thank you very much. Maybe eventually I'll snap out of the death march mentality, stop waiting in dread for the other shoe to drop, and be a useful and productive member of society! Regardless, since I noticed the central University upload of my thesis ignored all the supplementary matter on the CD that the examiners wanted, this has been this evening's productive endeavour:. The time to work out how...

Mon, Nov. 8th, 2010, 06:38 pm. FreeChain for 64-bit Windows. Since someone e-mailed me about it(! As a proper Win32 console application, which means it runs natively on Windows all the way up to 64-bit Windows 7 (something the DOS version won't), complete with hastily-drawn icon. In the process the sort-of-abandoned GTK port source is now up. I can't even remember what state that's in, although my SVN log seems to say about halfway. Sat, Jun. 14th, 2008, 06:18 pm. FreeChain for popular platforms. However...

Wed, Jan. 19th, 2011, 08:02 pm. The End. Almost. Sort of. I think it's reaching time for ths journal to come to an end. Quite aside from LiveJournal's own decay in terms of everything but advertising, it's now my primary source of spam from the comment system. So I'm probably going to have ljgrabber. Lock all the doors and maybe one day I'll actually host something under my control that isn't full of JavaScript. Wed, Jan. 19th, 2011 09:20 pm (UTC). Wed, Jan. 19th, 2011 09:36 pm (UTC). http://atreic.livejournal.com/483993.html
Themic life - Sallys Journal. November 12th, 2012. Last night, on the coach back from Luton, I read squid314's post about a guy asking him for money for train tickets. It's a nice discussion of 'is this a scam, did he really want train tickets, did I do the right thing / wrong thing, it's all a bit finely balenced, I'll never really know'. Anyway, then I got home, and found out that pavanne had posted yet another similar story. November 12th, 2012 11:24 pm (UTC). November 12th, 2012 11:46 pm (UTC). Stopp...
