maisie and the boys

Maisie and the boys. Down in the garden. Monday, 2 April 2018. Lovely easter break is leading into the school holidays. I am hoping to get a start happening on mary Brown but first I want to get some progress on Okehampton. There was some 1/2 square triangle action happening to make up the shortfall, and I now have the correct number of triangles. I put the first border on and it was my first attempt at mitreing corners. Some broken dishes have been pieced, just enough to see how it will look. I have to ...

Maisie and the boys. Down in the garden. Saturday, 27 June 2015. A day of retail bliss! For my birthday that we don't like to mention, the girls at work gave me a gift voucher for Patch and quilt in Gisborne. This was an amazing gift that I was looking forward to using! Of course we had a fantastic and frivolous time and I even made a new friend. Wonderful isn't it? Would you like to see my goodies. Can you tell that there was some laughing involved? The silly girls are . Sorry I didn't share. Now to sha...

http://maisieandtheboys.blogspot.com/2015/08/block-one-complete.html

Maisie and the boys. Down in the garden. Sunday, 9 August 2015. After some debating about fabrics for leaves I have managed to complete my first Lucy Kemper block! I must say I am very happy with it and it's great to use my blues. Block 2 is underway also. Happy days! Here are some pics. Blueberry ripple completed too so the three throws are ready to gift. There are some wools left over so I need to make a scrappy project to use them all up, should be fun just need to decide what pattern to chose. Nice t...

maisie and the boys: July ufo

http://maisieandtheboys.blogspot.com/2015/07/july-ufo.html

Maisie and the boys. Down in the garden. Friday, 31 July 2015. July's ufo to work on was my little houses. I was looking forward to some progress and didn't even open the box of houses till the 29th and I realised there were only a few more days of July to go! With all the sashings and corner stones already sewn on this wasn't the big job it might have seemed. I really wanted to get moving so I retreated to the sewing room and zoom, zoom, zoomed. Borders on and red blocks in the corners. Sun is shining t...

maisie and the boys: some finishes

http://maisieandtheboys.blogspot.com/2015/05/some-finishes.html

Maisie and the boys. Down in the garden. Wednesday, 13 May 2015. It feels good to have some finishes. I finished the raspberry ripple and am on to a blueberry ripple for my other niece. I am enjoying working on these on the cold nights we are having recently. I couldn't wait to bind my mini that fiona quilted and it was bound and hanging in no time. The carnation in the pic is from our garden. I am not a fan of carnations but this one is quite pretty. Hope you are having a great week. 13 May 2015 at 20:01.

Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Here are some more AHHHH's for the second quilt that just seems to keep growing. I think the way it is now it needs another row of 8 blocks so that it works out symmetrical rather than being slightly off centre! I seem to have lost the mojo though for these at the moment so I will get back to it in a few weeks. June 9, 2015 at 2:55 PM. June 9, 2015 at 3:15 PM. The Village Quilters: December 2014

http://thevillagequilters.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 23, 2014. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Well it's not cold, wet(snowing) or dark at 4 p.m ( being English this is what I grew up with and even after 38 years in Australia I still can't get used to a hot Christmas . ah well) but it's as close as I can get. Finally got the tree up and decorated but it's not as good as usual. Still it's up. Wishing you all a very happy and safe festive season. Saturday, December 20, 2014. Tis finished and a proud moment. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Yesterday Rosalie and I attended the TPG quilt show which is still on today if you can make it. Here are a few of the quilts. Just love this as it is blue! This was made using a? Son's drawings. He was 4 1/2 years old when they were drawn. What a keepsake for the artist. Can you see Spiderman quilted in to the train block? This was a bit amazing. We both looked at it and it was as flat as. I then got the camera in position and lo and behold it really is 3D. Stunning. For photos of...

The Village Quilters: Slow progress with Miss Elizabeth

http://thevillagequilters.blogspot.com/2015/08/slow-progress-with-miss-elizabeth.html

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Slow progress with Miss Elizabeth. I have been a bit slack with Miss Elizabeth but I have managed to get the 28 x 1/2" hexies that go between the stars on the outer border. I tried fussy cutting but it wasn't as successful as I had hoped. ah well.I also did some more elongated hexies. I have all the papers but need the scraps so I need to go foraging in all the bags etc. Three stars that fit around the last border. Don't think I will fussy cut all of them but I will do some.

The Village Quilters: October 2014

http://thevillagequilters.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. Eastern Palliative Care show and Honour blocks. Like a few bloggers I too attended the Eastern Palliative Care Show. This is a Kaffe Fassett one and despite not being a big fan of KF I did love this one. The person standing by me just LOVED it and said that she had made the same pattern and also did it in his fabrics. There were two of these almost exactly the same. One was handquilted and one machine quilted. Think Amish is more me. one day! Not sure about the darker purple ...
