Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal: November 2014
http://postalvalhalla.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal. Sunday, November 30, 2014. November 2012 - Never Forget. Fuck that little kid. I want to kick him in the crotch. A person, then it's the most vile, selfish, sadistic, emotionless, self-centered kind of person possible. Tonight I'm holding up my virtual torch to salute CoH and the players who played it. You are not forgotten. And I promise that some day I'll repost my "Zero to Awesome 2" thread. I still have it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Postal Valhalla @ Tumblr.

Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal: One Year
http://postalvalhalla.blogspot.com/2013/12/one-year.html
Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal. Sunday, December 1, 2013. But then I joined City of Heroes, and that was it for me for a year and a half, until all of the nerfs got to me and I left just before the release of City of Villains. I just wasn't having fun anymore. In the last year I've written (or finished writing) five or six Tai-Pan stories, wrote over 60,000 words on my Ranma 1/2 fanfiction epic (in length if not subject) Girls School. But if City of Heroes were still around I'd be playing it.

Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal: October 2012
http://postalvalhalla.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Shinobu's City of Heroes Journal. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. 90 Days to the Apocalpyse - Day 61. Sometimes the stupidest bios on the stupidest throwaway characters make me laugh pretty hard. Here's three that amuse me beyond all reason or logic:. So yeah. I continue to catalog/document all of my many characters. We're still the #2 SG on Virtue and probably will remain so, but we destroyed about 38 billion influence or so tonight, for no other reason than we could. Tuesday, October 30, 2012. And Jane an...

Ramblings from the desk of the Script Doctor. RSS for this section. March 8, 2016. Is it worth the outrage? 8211; part three. A couple of years ago I set myself a personal goal to Reduce the Outrage. I modified it and combined it with another last year, and carried it over again this year. I’ve been sick off-and-on. The whole reason I set those goals about reducing outrage is because unproductive outrage is toxic and self-destruction and does no good to anyone. You will know them by their actions. One si...

Ramblings from the desk of the Script Doctor. August 6, 2015. Dark Prophecies and Evil Half-brothers – more of why I love sf/f. A scan of my own copy of The Wicked Day, by Mary Stewart, purchased back in 1983. (Click to embiggen). Is all about viewpoints. Several important plot points turn on the fact that one or more characters is operating on incomplete or completely mistaken understanding. And the theme is about perspectives…. Each of the books in this series included a section in the back where Stewa...

Ramblings from the desk of the Script Doctor. July 30, 2015. Aging Enchanters and Sinister Plots – more of why I love sf/f. I couldn’t find a nice large image of the same cover art as my copy on line, so spent a while trying to scan the gold paperback. The best image I got was this one, even though you can see my hands and iPhone reflected in the cover. (Click to embiggen). Before I get into that, I want to remind you that voting for the Hugo Awards ends. Was published in 1970, it made references to futu...

Grandpa Anarchy Tales: August 2016
http://grandpaanarchy.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2016. Yeesh," Grandpa Anarchy said. "Talk about purple prose.". Deep in the Anarchy Cave, situated below the Anarchy Mansion in Frosthaven NJ, Grandpa was seated before the Anarchy Computer - a device that had been built by one of his sidekicks in the mid 1960's, and then occasionally updated over the years but - this part was important - never actually replaced. Yes, okay," said Grandpa. "But Patriarch of Pandemonium. No one's ever called me that in my entire life! The girl said. ...

The Hammer of Jalia: June 2013
http://hammerofjalia.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The Hammer of Jalia. Monday, June 24, 2013. What Was and Never Will Be. It bugs me too that the boats are gone. Mind you, being forced to ride the boats was one of the major problems with the game back in the day, but completely removing them sucks. I really wanted to take a boat ride again, but all of the docks in the game exist for pretty much no reason now. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Courier of Favor, and Hero's Forge. I did the "Courier of Favor" quest Friday Night, using an online walkthrough to explain...

Grandpa Anarchy Tales: The Return of the Roaring Rangers
http://grandpaanarchy.blogspot.com/2017/01/the-return-of-roaring-rangers.html
Tuesday, January 3, 2017. The Return of the Roaring Rangers. The Return of the Roaring Rangers. The black helicopter hovered high over the countryside. Below it a massive helicarrier suddenly came into view - a flying ship the size of a small aircraft carrier. It simply faded. Into view, as if by magic - or perhaps more to the point, as if some sort of high-tech cloaking device had been temporarily turned off. You'd think you'd have traffic jams.". You know - Department of Superhero Licensing? Nope" The ...

Grandpa Anarchy Tales: November 2016
http://grandpaanarchy.blogspot.com/2016_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 28, 2016. Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. Good Fences Make Good Neighbors. Ignoring this, Grandpa Anarchy, world's oldest hero, banged on the door. After several moments it opened. Framed in the doorway was an alien creature out of nightmares - four eyes, eight tentacles, bloated purplish skin, and a mouth full of rows of shark-like teeth. The creature was vaguely humanoid and appeared to be wearing slacks, a preppie-style sweater, and smoking a pipe. I mean I don't want to be a stickle...
