http://summerresidencies.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Friday, 30 September 2011. Performance for global container. So last night was Global Container 19. It was hectic. I went to buy a dress at 6pm and got lost in the rain on the way back. Eventually I got a tolley bus back and arrived drenched at ten to eight. The line up pretty packed with things kicking off at 8pm so I had ten minutes to get myself together. Finally at 23:00 I began to set up my piece. You can see some stills from the video here:. Today Sandra a...

Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Monday, 22 March 2010. I can't believe I'm going to Estonia and I can't wait. Flights are booked and I've been in contact with the people at the studio. About doing some workshops. It all seems so far away at the moment, and to be fair I'm not going until May but I want to make sure I'm prepared so I get the most out of this. http://summerresidencies.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Wednesday, 26 May 2010. Before I got here I started reading a Jaan Kross book The Czar's Madman and somehow one day I started to make little people (affectionately known as poopman). I introduced Poopman to the people of Tallinn at a story telling open mic night at Von Crawl Theatre and he's been hanging out at the factory since. On Saturday we had a pin hole photography workshop. Friday, 21 May 2010. Art saves print shop. The story goes when times were tough th...

http://summerresidencies.blogspot.com/2011/10/negative.html
Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Thursday, 6 October 2011. So the plan is to make a Mutoscope. Or something similar with the footage from the performance which will be printed onto the paper made from the performance. Step one: take stills from the film. Step two: invert them. Step three: print onto acetate. Step four: make hand made paper from paper used in the performance (allow for mistakes so about 500). Step five: treat the paper with Cyanotype. Step seven: assemble into a machine. Tried t...

http://summerresidencies.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Tuesday, 25 October 2011. This time last week I arrived back in Parkstone. One week and things have been easy here. The Cyanotype workshop I delivered last week was successful. The sun shone, the paper I'd treated before I left still work and the participants loved it. Tomorrow i am attending the first meeting of the 'Laptop Bashing Club' organised by Andy Walders in an attempt to get on with writing for our MA course. More than writing i feel I need to look...

Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Saturday, 8 October 2011. Today I got up when I'd. Had enough sleep. I got straight into paper making. As it was sunny I thought should try out some cyanotypes. And maybe figure out the washer dryer. I spent most of the day alone making and I was very productive. At around 5 ish. Krysta and I continued our conversation and after a while Ryan Ernest and Eve turned. And then I suggested we go to Prisma. On the door. He was going to Prisma. Too So we left together.

Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Sunday, 9 October 2011. Again this morning I got stuck into making. I now have 80 sheets of paper for the rebeccastrainoscope. With this project has become known as. It is beginning. To come together and there seems to be many things to talk about around it:. Removing history and replacing it. The self reflexive nature of the work. And probably some more. The Fine Art of rejection/Selection. And Born and Bread. Who stole it of Marnina. Approaches without power s...

Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia: Undocumented
http://summerresidencies.blogspot.com/2011/10/undocumented.html
Polymer Culture Factory, Tallinn, Estonia. Sunday, 16 October 2011. When the prints dried I began the long process of cutting, folding and backing them to form the pages of the flip book. It was tedious repetitive. Work but I had many visitors. At lunchtime Sandra arrived and announced it was time to eat. The table which had been cover in glue, paper, knives, and acetates was now laden with salad, cheese, cakes. And tea cups. Jagna. And eating again. Back at Polymer, a while later, the pages I'd atta...
