We are offering the chance to have one-to-one tuition from some of the inspiring musicians playing at the festival. The classes are open to anyone of grade 7 and above. There is no age limit and we would be delighted if a large age range was represented. We encourage you to bring pre-formed chamber groups to any of the sessions. 4-6pm Tuesday 4th October. Roman River Festival 2011. 6 October 9am - 3.30pm. Dominic Harlan Workshop leader. Our music days involve a class of pupils in a day of songwriting, singing and drama. We regularly go into local primary schools, particularly those in areas of regeneration. The whole school attends the performance at the end of the day so that as many as possible can benefit from the experience. Roman River Festival 2011. Caryl graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in summer 2007, having studied with Noelle Barker and Audrey Hyland. She also holds a BA (Hons) in Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She went on to receive an inaugural HRH Prince of Wales Scholarship for Advanced Study in Music to attend Cardiff International Academy of Voice, under the direction of Dennis O’Neill. Roman River Festival 2011. Every year a local artist generously donates an image for us to use in the Festival publicity. This year we are very grateful to Jacqueline Taber for her beautiful paintings. Please have a look at her website. Jacqueline Taber was born in 1946. She studied art in Paris for one year and restoration for five years at the Gabinetto del Restauro at the Uffizi, Florence. At the same time she also attended the Studio of Signorina Simi.
