The other day my son-in-law, Travis, called me and said to look up live crawfish and then call him back. He makes me laugh! Traditionally a boil is poured out onto a table covered with newspaper so to mimic that I just painted a very thin layer of very thin white icing onto my #9 cookies and let it dry completely (it only took about 30 minutes.) Then I had this stamp (below) ...

We went to see The Music of Styx with Dennis DeYoung so I made cookies. Cookies for a Vine Time Party. Design used by permission. Pies for an indoor BBQ Vine Time Party. Jars of pickles for reasons of my own. Sweet 16 birthday cookies for Trey's little sister. Birthday cookies for a neighbor and Easter eggs for Robin and Carey.

One day I had a little extra dough, some random icing and decided to recreate the Marauder's Map from Harry Potter. I did two but this one is by far the best one. it is freehand drawn on dry icing that I watercolor painted with food colors. Paint Your Own Cookie. I wanted to try paint your own cookies. This is what I came up with. Star Wars, Gold, Kylo Ren and a Three year old.

It's exhausting physically and emotionally, especially if you happen to be gluttons for punishment and decide to make two 1800 mile moves in a mere 15 months. (Whoa! Just one kind of folks. Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Jay and I were out and about last night. Being such a responsible parent and all, I texted the boy to see how things were going at the house. I know.my kids are 16, 18, and 20 years old. Whatever. I was just checking on them. Geeeeeeez. Note the sweet, thoughtful, "Hey,thanks for caring about us, Mom! Response from the boy. Then, of course, there is my answer because I believe in using kind, respectful words. That's some stellar parenting right there, folks.
