160;Im a big fan of herbs and microgreens.  Ive mentioned previously on my blog that I start an  indoor herb garden. 160;when its winter outdoors so that I can enjoy some greenery and, of course, enjoy the fruits of my labour. With each passing year, I learn more and more ways to use herbs and ways to preserve them.  Last year, I tried my hand in  drying peppermint. 160;and even growing sprouts. 160;culinary students were growing herbs in-house with the use of the  Urban Cultivator. 160;several years ago.

After a successful Minecraft birthday party. For my son, my daughter wanted to do the same for her birthday. I was all set to make similar birthday and mini-muffins decorated with fondant when my daughter stated she wanted a Minecraft ice cream cake. Ice cream in a minecraft theme? Sure I could have made a simple ice cream cake with some cake toppers but I wasn't thrilled with that idea. What was I going to do? This episode rounds out my "15 minutes of fame". I've featured this recipe. 1 egg, beaten.

My 3rd segment for  Family Central. 160;show on  Telus Optik Local TV. 160;This time I make a fun and healthy anytime treat.  . We call them Yogi-pops in my house and it is a staple in the warmer months. Ill even have an occasional mold sitting in the freezer throughout the colder months, since I often freeze. 160;surplus berries, or I will buy frozen fruit from the grocery store. As I mention (twice! In the episode your kids are gonna love it! Im pushing my catch up week to next week! But I have to!

I has been a long while since my last post.  I left my blog on the sidelines, leaving it a low priority but Im trying to get back on it. First off, Happy New Year! It has been a whirlwind these past 5 months.  Having spent 3 months abroad and returning in December made life very busy.  Getting children back to school here (where did I put your indoor runners and all your school supplies? When was the last time we had a date night? And that is when I was reminded about our night out at Corso 32.

Raspberry chocolate chip cookies. Ok, I lied. I got tired of just eating the raspberries. Right off the branches. The problem is that within a week, we had so many raspberries that I couldn't keep up with them. The novelty wore off after chewing the 100 th. Berry and 1000 th. Time of picking seeds out of my teeth. I also do not sieve the raspberries to remove the seeds. I prefer to call it rustic cooking/baking versus the alternative, that being "lazy". Princess Castle Birthday Cake. I have a princess living in my home. She requested a princess castle cake for her birthday a while back and one can never say no to a princess. Especially one as cute and sweet as my princess :). I also filled fresh strawberries and a thin layer of strawberry jam in between the cake layers to give extra texture and added moistness. Construction scene birthday cake. My daughter's birthday will be coming up soon and I was thinking about what kind of birthday cake to make for her, taking in her suggestions. When Im grocery shopping, if the bean sprouts are looking fresh, I will likely grab a bag to use that evening.  I have no idea how they keep the bean sprouts fresh because after 2 days max in my refrigerator, they need to hit the compost bin.  Slimy, limp bean sprouts are a travesty. cornmeal blini | In My Element

I don't really know why this is called a "blini". Looks like a pancake to me! According to my friendly online encylopedia, blini. Is supposed to be a thin pancake, similar to a crepe. I think this cookbook must be wrong because these "blini's" are far from thin like a crepe. The batter was thick and there was no way I could make it thin and crepe like.
