Mother on Earth: Two Weeks
http://makingagreenbean.blogspot.com/2008/12/two-weeks.html
Trying to be one. Monday, December 1, 2008. It's pretty difficult for me to get any computer time these days, but thanks to a new corset-like item I purchased today at the New Moms Lactation Support Group, I can now pump breast milk "hands free" style. Oh yeah! Feel free NOT to get a mental picture of that. That's right, Elias is two weeks old! The best news from this visit is that Eli is. I keep thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. I also wonder when, if ever, we will get to catch up!
Mother on Earth: New Pictures!
http://makingagreenbean.blogspot.com/2009/01/new-pictures.html
Trying to be one. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. All is well in Eli land. I wish I could post about many, many things, but these days if I can't do it from my iphone, it doesn't get done online. Meanwhile, here are some pictures for those who keep asking. Thanks for checking in! I will try to blog again soon (Karen thanks for tagging me, I am planning to respond! Eli's Christmas outfit with reindeer feet. He loves his Tiny Love mobile. Sporting his balding hairline and acne. And the new hair is coming in.
Mother on Earth: September 2008
http://makingagreenbean.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Trying to be one. Thursday, September 11, 2008. I am a weather drama junkie. Yesterday baby Uno was going. Inside me all afternoon and evening. He was awake and moving for about 4 or 5 hours straight. It was neat at first, and then it was like having someone poke you in the same place over and over again for hours, like Chinese water torture. I tried eating, drinking, singing, patting my belly, moving around, and nothing changed - perhaps a preview of trying to comfort a newborn? Can't wait for that!
Mother on Earth: Allow me to introduce you...
http://makingagreenbean.blogspot.com/2008/11/allow-me-to-introduce-you.html
Trying to be one. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Allow me to introduce you. Elias was born late in the night on Monday, November 17th, happy and healthy. What started as a routine office visit at the OB Monday morning ended as an emergency c-section 14 hours later. The day didn't go quite as we thought it would, but it ended with us holding our precious new son, and that's all that matters. We are so blessed, so thankful for this precious miracle! Welcome to the world, baby Eli! I love the name Eli too!
Mother on Earth: October 2008
http://makingagreenbean.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Trying to be one. Monday, October 27, 2008. Today's trip to the OB revealed that I am between 1 and 2 centimeters dilated and 80% effaced. Woo hoo! I wasn't expecting that, and now I am anticipating Uno's arrival more than ever. My strep test was negative, and everything else looked good, too. Let's hope she's right. On another note, if you have a moment, please say a prayer for Sara. As she endures a rough pregnancy that is really taking its toll on her. Saturday, October 25, 2008. I saw the OB yesterda...

Our Infertility Journey: Raspy like an 80 year old smoker
http://ivfbaby08.blogspot.com/2008/12/raspy-like-80-year-old-smoker.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Raspy like an 80 year old smoker. With these prescriptions comes paranoia. Everything I have googled on the internet says not to take Preva.cid while breastfeeding. My OB wasn't available, but I called my ped's office, and they have said that both meds prescribed are fine for breastfeeding. In fact, they prescribe Prev.acid for infants with reflux sometimes. Still, I can't help but worry. Happy 2009 to you too! December 31, 2008 at 8:19 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Our Infertility Journey: May 2008
http://ivfbaby08.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 25, 2008. I feel like it's been ages since I have posted any kind of update. All is well in general; I am 15w3d along now. Lemmesee what I can muster as an update; I'll try not to bore you. In no particular order:. Someone in Oregon tried to charge $3300 to our credit card for "specialty food and services." Thankfully the charge was denied because they entered the wrong pin, and the fraud dept for our cc called us immediately. My mom is making maternity scrubs for me. I haven't been able ...
Our Infertility Journey: January 2009
http://ivfbaby08.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 17, 2009. Last week, A's office had a shower for us and 3 other couples who had babies. I am certain that A did not share with any of his coworkers our IF struggles and our eventual method of conception. So you can probably imagine how hard I had to work to hide my annoyance when we got hit with the slew of "When are you going to have another? I am willing to bet all those folks that ask about #2 never had to consider these things themselves. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. 3 Your hair color?
Our Infertility Journey: June 2008
http://ivfbaby08.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2008. So, the doc called and told me that there was nothing bad in the tissue sample. It showed engorgement of the tissue, no infection, no cancer, nada. Whee! Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Definitely feeling like a weight has been lifted. I can only hope and pray that the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly. Monday, June 23, 2008. Junior is moving around quite a bit now! Many thanks to all of you who dropped by and offered your support! It was very much needed. I went to a bre...
Our Infertility Journey: April 2009

Friday, April 3, 2009. The Newest Little Cath.olic. Last weekend we baptized our sweet boy. It was a particularly lovely weekend with lots of quality family time. B was the best baby of the bunch. He slept through most of it, and made nary a peep when the water was poured on his head. As the priest put it, "The spirit passed through quietly." It was so very special and I was so very proud. Our Infertility Journey: Time To Make the Doughnuts
http://ivfbaby08.blogspot.com/2009/02/time-to-make-doughnuts.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Time To Make the Doughnuts. I went back to work last week. I miss my son immensely during the day, and picking him up is the highlight of my day. My day goes as follows:. 0400: pump while getting dressed for work. 0730 or thereabouts: breakfast break and pump. B is allegedly awake at this point, and A is feeding him and takes him to the nanny's. Usually B eats again around 1000. 0800: try to figure what the hell is going on at work. 1600: leave work to go pick up B. Got a coup...

Friday, October 31, 2008. PT is totally worth it. Went this AM for the consult and got a whole host of exercises I can do to help. Have been unable to get the DVD of Ben to read on my or my husband's computer. Rats. Thursday, October 30, 2008. So far no more episodes of kitty-in-the-PNP. Goody. I think I am just going to make my husband give me some mercy sex this weekend on our anniversary. He just looked at me funny and said, "How are we supposed to do that? Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Things are closed...

Tuesday, January 13, 2009. So did you have GD and now it's showing up after pregnancy? I think I recall that GD increases your chances of developing Type II later on. I hope this is all manageable and you are enjoying that cute little baby! January 14, 2009 at 7:58 AM. January 14, 2009 at 8:59 AM. I hope the diet modification is able to curb the test results. Keep us posted on what you find out! January 17, 2009 at 3:59 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Houston, Texas, United States.

making a good life...one day at a time
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Back at it in 2015. Just a month in and 2015 is off to a rollicking good start. We rang in the new year with family-reunion-a-polooza! It was pretty awesome to get about 2/3 of the family together under one roof for a wee stretch of time. Awesome, and crazy, and kid fabulous! About a month before this insanity all went down I broke down in my own little moment of crazy and brought this home:. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. 1 I totally slacked off at gardening this year. There...

Making A Goodly Heritage
Making A Goodly Heritage. I may not be able to sing the song "I have a goodly heritage", but I want my daughter to be able to sing it! Sunday, October 30, 2011. Let us run with patience. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Why is it that concerning the Bible, Where God Speaks the Least, Men Shout the Loudest? Many issues of contention, have either few or no references in scripture, maybe we should learn to be quiet where God is silent. Friday, October 14, 2011. Saturday, October 8, 2011. Mother on Earth
Trying to be one. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Please take a minute. All is well with us. Finding time to blog or otherwise keep up with the online community is still something I "used to do", you know, "before I had a baby". Other mothers seem to be able to do this, but not me. Maybe someday soon. And In 2 Me See. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. I will try to blog again soon (Karen thanks for tagging me, I am planning to respond! Eli's Christmas outfit with reindeer feet. Making a Guitar
Follow along on my first acoustic guitar build. Saturday, October 22, 2011. Bolting on the Neck (plus odds and ends). I put some pencil lead on the end of the bolts and stuck them through the heel block – to put some marks on the neck tenon. Squared everything up and started drilling. All the holes drilled and the bolts used to attache the neck. Decided to go with these type of bolts/nuts. Think they are stronger than pins and I don't like the idea of putting inserts in the end-grain. Ran the pencil lead...
Making A Happy Life
Thursday, June 04, 2009. Another year passed by. I often say that I dont know where time goes and I honestly dont. I am turning thirty next month and I have no idea how that happened. Where did the years go? I still feel as twenty three and whenever my mother in law tells me I have to start using anti wrinkle eye cream I feel as if she is not talking to me. Me use anti wrinkle cream? I havent even got any wrinkles, Im only twenty something. Or so I keep telling myself. Monday, June 01, 2009. Time managem...
