The misadventures of a brand new mom. To mommy-hood and beyond. December 13, 2012. Thus began our unexpected adventure of becoming parents. After the initial shock wore off, (one of my midwives said it wasn’t that I didn’t know. I had become pregnant that had caught us off guard, it was just that after fourteen years of marriage, I was so used to. Being pregnant that was throwing us for a loop) the excitement poured in. So much to do, so many books to read! Waitwhich books are best? A room full of people?
Portland | zenpopgloss
https://zenpopgloss.wordpress.com/2012/12/31/portland
December 31, 2012. I’m moving to Portland this summer with a friend. With nothing but a suitcase, my guitar, and a little bit of cash I am leaving all of my family and starting my own life. What I want from life is happiness. What I want is to look back on every year and say “yeah, that might have been really hard, back I am happy as fuck.” I don’t want to turn 40 and ask myself what I have done with my life. I don’t want what-if’s. I don’t want regrets. Also, any tips would be appreciated.🙂. Holy shitb...

The misadventures of a brand new mom. To mommy-hood and beyond. June 14, 2013. We had successfully completed stage one of parenthood, i.e. birthing the child, now what? To co-sleep or no? Do we even sleep at all? So many questions that we thought we had answered were suddenly looming over us. My plan before birth, a lovely baby who sleeps from 7:30 pm until 8 am in cloth diapers, only gently waking for a breastfeeding session. My plans after the birth, um, what plans were those again? Don’t let me ...

Making Myself at Home
Making Myself at Home. Wherein I learn how to settle down, one meal, one pet, one crocheted amigurumi at a time. Thursday, August 13, 2009. As if carbs and sweets weren't enough. Well, you know the phrase "the devil you know is better than the devil you don't"? Oh, how I wish that was so. . I'm not actually allergic to cats. At least, I'm not allergic to them anymore, which is great news for both my boyfriend and our cats. I'm not allergic to dogs. I'm mildly allergic to grasses and trees....They have...

Making Myself at Home
And then life sucker-punches and you're really glad you made brownies a couple nights before. These are good. Really, really good. I adapted the recipe from here. Turkey Meatloaf with Pinenuts and Feta. Isn't it a little self-involved? So I write for my mom. Who does actually care. Or pretends to. I love, love, love spaghetti squash. So easy, so good. Major bang for your buck. Get your oven heated to 400 degrees. Take your squash and slice it in half. Totally unrelated, but these are really, really good.

Making my shots | or at least trying to ;)
Or at least trying to ;). Lightroom 4 and image archiving revisited. In a previous post I shared my thoughts about image archiving. My 3rd rule for image archiving states that the appearance of an archived image should look the same in 10 years as it does today (assuming the equipment used to present the image is properly calibrated of course). The latest major release of Lightroom introduces process version 2012. Question is how long is Adobe going to allow me to continue to use version 2010? Every year...
