Reknitting a small hole - Making on the Mountain
http://www.makingonthemountain.com/2009/02/reknitting-small-hole.html
Reknitting a small hole. Wednesday, February 04, 2009. Reknitting a small hole. Posted by Diane Cransac. Here is the tutorial I have been promising you. This is a very hard thing to explain in words. Its so much easier to have someone looking over my shoulder when I teach it. I will do my best though and feel free to ask any questions if you are confused. So this is the hole we are going to repair today. We start out by turning it to the back and pulling the two broken ends out. And continue weaving past...
A Clear View in Sight - Making on the Mountain
http://www.makingonthemountain.com/2015/07/a-clear-view-in-sight.html
A Clear View in Sight. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. A Clear View in Sight. Posted by Diane Cransac. As you all know I have been away for awhile because of my eyes. I have literally been sitting doing nothing most of this time. I totally de-stressed. I slept a lot. I lost 20 pounds on my elimination diet and that was not intentional, but happily received! I do have a few projects in mind to begin my activity. So be on the lookout. I will post again soon. July 24, 2015 at 10:54 PM. July 29, 2015 at 5:19 PM.
The Paisley Disaster (and how even disasters can come to good) - Making on the Mountain
http://www.makingonthemountain.com/2010/04/paisley-disaster-and-how-even-disasters.html
The Paisley Disaster (and how even disasters can come to good). Tuesday, April 13, 2010. The Paisley Disaster (and how even disasters can come to good). Posted by Diane Cransac. We were labeling the boxes with black permanent marker and somehow it must have got on this piece. Fortunately the main parts of the streak were on the beige background so.I did something crazy.I cut it out! My heart was in my throat when I was cutting it and I was so afraid I would ruin it. What do you think? You were very brave!
A Rest in Order - Making on the Mountain
http://www.makingonthemountain.com/2015/05/a-rest-in-order.html
A Rest in Order. Tuesday, May 26, 2015. A Rest in Order. Posted by Diane Cransac. Sorry I have been quiet lately, I am afraid I am going to be quiet for a bit. I have developed bubbles 'cavitations' in both my retinas and have been told it is probably due to fatigue and stress. So I am kicking back and taking it easy. Hopefully these will go away soon! Time to take nice long naps if I want to. Time to put some art projects on hold. Time to put my shop on vacation for awhile maybe? May 26, 2015 at 4:04 PM.
Project Updates - Making on the Mountain
http://www.makingonthemountain.com/2011/09/project-updates.html
Monday, September 12, 2011. Posted by Diane Cransac. I finished up the blackwork cuffs and collar and think they turned out very well even though I didn't like that silk thread. I have since dyed some new thread to use with my new project. I hope the new doesn't want to snag like the other. I had to use shorter piece and change frequently to keep this piece looking good. September 12, 2011 at 5:13 PM. Where to this time? September 12, 2011 at 8:39 PM. September 12, 2011 at 9:20 PM. September 13, 2011 at ...

Saturday, May 31, 2014. Art in Hannover: A Visit to Sprengel Museum. Although built in the late 1970s, the architecture is exiting. A wonderful space for sculptures. And paintings from the Classical Modern period: Kandinsky . Emil Nolde - the colors are very true to the original painting. A very charming, small Picasso . An enchanting Paul Klee . A miracle by Max Ernst . And a sensational reproduction of the . Famous MERZ-Bau by Kurt Schwitters. Who was a citizen of Hannover . A big sculpture outdoors .

Colourful Research -- a Creative Diary: My Work Space
http://colourful-research.blogspot.com/2014/07/my-work-space.html
Friday, July 18, 2014. On this wooden board, you can see my tools. There are a few stencils I cut out of plastic boxes. The wooden board is important because I push the pins hard through the cloth layers. There is an Estonian pin cushion, wool embroidery, and the neon green thread which I use for the whole quilt. The red-framed diamond is one of four corner pieces which will be joined into the flying geese rows. The side rows of flying gees are just being made. Friday, July 18, 2014 12:18:00 PM. Please h...

Colourful Research -- a Creative Diary: September 2013
http://colourful-research.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 30, 2013. The Binding is Still Due. But the rest of the quilt is coming closer to being finished. I'm still pondering if I should mark all the crossings on the reverse with the 45°-angle positioned squares, as I have done on the front side. It just means that these spots will consist of up to 10 layers of fabric. I'm also thinking of a surprise binding; so there might be something coming for your pleasure. Hopefully. Links to this post. Sunday, November 3, 2013. One Quilt - A Dozen Fabrics for the Binding. My quilt "Ethnographic Museum" is not very large, about 4x3 ft. I decided that it is finished, though it will never have bed-size; But some things don't improve when being enlarged. The reason is probably that there are plenty of details which don't allow it to be larger. I might even turn this method of binding into some kind of personal brand. Links to this post. MAKING on the Mountain
MAKING on the Mountain. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Posted by Diane Cransac. I have to admit that I still have cravings though. Like this week when we went to the little organic store and bought a big bag full of heirloom tomatoes and I made a big batch of my salsa. Chips are required. I have to admit the salsa was so good I did eat some with no chips! ButI still wanted them, so I went on a search for a chip I could make. I finally found one that looked like what I wanted at the Fed and Fit. The ammonites ...

Makin' Good Time. Life is SHORT. Why not make GOOD time? Where Have We Been? July 22, 2017 Day 18 Greenville, SC. July 22, 2017 / April.
