Making something: More wonkiness
http://makingsomething-denise.blogspot.com/2009/07/more-wonkiness.html
A place to record sewing, knitting and other project work. Monday, July 6, 2009. I am having a blast with this. Each block is it's own composition, I am experimenting with contrast and bringing in variation of green to blend with the purple domination. I am even piecing some of the strips, to add yet another dimension. Do you see some of the Zambia dress fabric included? You can click on the picture to get a closer look). July 6, 2009 at 11:24 PM. Love the purple and green combination! A Dress a Day.
Making something: November 2008
http://makingsomething-denise.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A place to record sewing, knitting and other project work. Thursday, November 27, 2008. I'm off to my sister's house for a family Thanksgiving. My contribution is seen here. Pies: apple, pecan and cherry. The apple is very large, deep dish and made with Granny Smith apples. The cherry pie was made with Splenda, for those who much watch sugar. This is my first sugar free pie, hope is tastes good. The red dish is the classic fresh cranberry-orange relish. The year has turned its circle,. Links to this post.
Making something: Smaller groocery bag
http://makingsomething-denise.blogspot.com/2008/07/smaller-groocery-bag.html
A place to record sewing, knitting and other project work. Friday, July 18, 2008. I have noticed that the baggers at the grocery store will fill up my cloth bags to the max. This makes the bags quite heavy to lug in and out of the car and then into the house. I have made a bag pattern that is wider and shorter than the ones I have been making, see my tutorial. You can see the size comparison in these two pictures. July 18, 2008 at 7:59 AM. August 20, 2008 at 9:43 AM. February 12, 2009 at 5:28 PM.
Making something: Wonky squares a plenty
http://makingsomething-denise.blogspot.com/2009/07/wonky-squares-plenty.html
A place to record sewing, knitting and other project work. Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Wonky squares a plenty. I have completed 20 wonky log cabin squares. Here they are all laid out together, on a queen size bed,(not sewn yet) to see how they might look without borders. I am planning to outline them with borders using one of the light fabrics. The squares are 13 1/2 inches, so this will be a nice large quilt. This has really been fun, making it up as I go. True improvisation. View my complete profile.
Making something: Grocery bag tutorial - updated 9/28/07
http://makingsomething-denise.blogspot.com/2007/02/grocery-bag-tutorial.html
A place to record sewing, knitting and other project work. Sunday, February 4, 2007. Grocery bag tutorial - updated 9/28/07. I have been making grocery bags form extra fabric in the stash. These two I made from an upholstery remnant that I purchased for $1.50 at a thrift store. I usually put a pocket on the front, made from scraps. I donate the bags to my congregation where they are sold for $10. oo each. The bags are reusable, a "green" alternative to the usual "paper or plastic". Mark the center of the...
