Inkscape Drop Shadow Using Filters. It's a great free program for vector graphics, but it can be a bit confusing at times to do certain things. Like the ubiquitous drop shadow. It ought to be as easy as clicking a button to apply a drop shadow to an image, but alas things are rarely that simple unless you are using a mac, but thats a post for another day. So how do we do drop shadows in inkscape? Then duplicate that object, Edit - Duplicate, or Ctrl-D:. Using a little repositioning we get a nice shadow:.

Apache "AllowOverride None" confusion. We had a situation where, there was a Apache Server with virtual hosts configured, one of the virtual hosts was located at. Under there was another media folder called media. I wanted to serve the media as a separate virtual host. The basic configuration was easy enough, just create a separate symlinked virtual host configuration file in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled for the new media site. And finally M$ has forced IE7 upon us all. What a frustrating experience it is. I fear for the future. If this is a sample of how Vista is going to look and work, I dispair, not for me but for the ordinary mortals out there who have to use this on a daily basis. I like menus, I really do. You can find all the application features in the menus. You know what the app can do, its all there in the menus. Admittedly the menus have to be well thought out, but if they are, there isn't a problem.
