Current activities - Summer 2015. The Primary Education Advisor's (PEAs) for our area asked that we build a classroom block each at Chivumu and Mtetezga villages. Both are remote, many kilometres from tar roads. We've built in Chivumu before (see photo) to replace what passed for a classroom block previously. MEL has used funds kindly donated by individuals and those left from previous initiatives to support individual Malawian students and complete more remote school developments. Ms C Hansford MBE.

Actually, Chamaweya School doesn't currently (15 June 2011) exist! Supporters in the UK give MEL clothing, footwear, learning resources and other items of use to the villagers around Ngala. We distribute these very publicly, to make sure our donations are fairly distributed. There's still a bit of beamfilling to be done, plastering to complete and floors to lay, but Chamaweya School now exists! Everyone concerned asked that thnaks be passed to those in the UK who helped make this achievement possible.
