Jane and Malc on the road. Sunday, April 06, 2008. We transferred to our base hotel, Hotel Los Alpes this morning. So what do you on Sunday in Quito? You could take in some street art in Parque El Ejido. There is a lot of it as well as many other traditional crafts stalls. Much of the art is really good, although there are many Guayasamin knock offs; a bit of a shame as the artists involved look talented enough to be able stand on their own merits. Off to Galapagos bright and early tomorrow!

Jane and Malc on the road. Tuesday, July 10, 2007. It is actually summer here so. First the evidence that we do have gardens under all that winter snow. We got lots of fish (mostly released - there are very strict size limits protecting larger not smaller fish and bag limits) and enjoyed daily meals of Manitoba Pickerel (Walleye) pictured below. As you can see, despite global warming, we had a white Christmas in Winnipeg, although the average temperature is about 10 degrees C above normal. While we started this blog to act as a substitute for multiple postcards while on the road, it seems fitting to keep it ticking over with family stuff until the travel bug bites again.
