Understanding the Philippi Model. The key to understanding the Philippi Model is Shalom, because that is the single, yet simple counselling aim. Shalom is the cement that holds all the other building blocks together. When peace with God, with Self and with Others has been restored, then the need for counselling ends. So the goal, or aim is to be always heading in the direction of the target. Every component included in the Philippi Integrative Model, is there to help the counsellee achieve Shalom.
