How is it fishing? Mallard Lake - 2013 season. Last updated 23/01/14 . see catch returns). How is it fishing? 2013 Season final results from fishing returns. The heaviest trout killed this season was a 4 lb. 7 oz. fish taken on 22nd June. There were over one thousand rod visits in total with a catch rate of 1.6 trout per visit for the 2013 season. We had a forced entry into our letterbox in the signing in hut last February-the letter box into which we put our guest monies.Luckily there was no cash in the box this time and the vandals went away empty handed. How is it fishing? Trout Fishing at Lower Moor in North Wiltshire. How is it fishing? Syndicate leases the private fishing rights on Mallard Lake from the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. The lake is located on the Lower Moor nature reserve which is near Oaksey in North Wiltshire. Fishing for syndicate members and their guests is available from the south and east banks, or from either of two fishing boats which are kept on the lake. Mallard Lake is not a day ticket fishery.
