A queen in the making. Wednesday, 2 November 2016. The next appointments arrived at the weekend – pre-assessment and then an admissions appointment for surgery. The latter under the care of Dr R, not the same consultant, and the procedures are not listed. I looked up Dr R. He’s a gynaecological oncologist. At least it’s only a few days to wait now. I called to confirm the admission appointment, a week after the pre-assessment. So I’m hoping that next week they’ll be able to give some answers,...Not long ...

A queen in the making. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Arrived back from holiday in France, yes, we were affected by the trouble in Calais but not so much to spoil holidays away. However, we were all glad to be back in our little home. And this quote from Thomas S Monson, #LDSconf, #LDSprophet, which I saw on Facebook was a reminder of what it should all be about. And why we can’t be on holiday every day! Blogging… et al. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. A Mom Like Me.

Following the pre-IVF Rules – Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle

Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle. Our journey through IVF and beyond. Following the pre-IVF Rules. July 29, 2015. September 18, 2015. Today I thought I’d write a little bit about following the pre-IVF rules and diet that our consultant has set for us. It’s not too strict – but does take out the main things that I enjoy – and it’s not only for me but for my husband too! So our rules are:. I don’t smoke anyway, but my hubby does at parties and with his friends (or at least used to! Alcohol seems to be the...

Implications Counselling Session – Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle
https://berealisticplanforamiracle.wordpress.com/2015/08/13/implications-counselling-session
Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle. Our journey through IVF and beyond. August 13, 2015. September 18, 2015. Today was the day of the implications counselling session – something that we have to do as part of our IVF package. Essentially it was a two hour session where a lovely nurse took us through the whole IVF with ICSI procedure in detail, how to do my injections and signing TONNES of consent forms! I did accidentally stab myself in the wrong place first, and even that wasn’t too painful! Fill in your...

Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle. Our journey through IVF and beyond. A Bit of History… 2007 to June 2015. July 19, 2015. September 18, 2015. This is just a bit of background to tell you how I got to where I am today – the countdown to my first round of IVF. I first was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. Fast-track 2 years to September 2013… after trying for so long we found out I was pregnant! We had our first appointment, and I started metformin. To start to get my PCOS under control. The ide...

Be Realistic : Plan for a Miracle. Our journey through IVF and beyond. The First IVF Appointment. July 22, 2015. September 18, 2015. So we had our very first appointment at the clinic scheduled in for Monday 6th July. Very exciting times! The first appointment was much quicker than I thought it would be – we saw the nurse first, who talked us through the myriad of forms we had filled out and took our history. Level for the moment and my hormones indicate that I will only need a “short cycle” ...They expl...

the pizza cutter lesson – princess architect
https://princessarchitect.wordpress.com/2015/07/08/the-pizza-cutter-lesson
A queen in the making. The pizza cutter lesson. Wednesday, 8 July 2015. Wednesday, 8 July 2015. I’m a fairly frugal person so I often feel I must justify a purchase, particularly for kitchen utensils. Why buy a specific tool when another tool will do the same thing, well, more or less? So, we’re enjoying beautifully sliced pizzas and I regret not buying one a long time ago. My own foolishness – thinking I was being smart but really living well below life’s great offering! Don’t do the same! I once bought...
