http://www.blindpigandtheacorn.com/blind_pig_the_acorn/pictures-of-appalachia.html
Appalachia Through My Eyes. Appalachia-do you live there? Do you know where it is? When you hear the word do you think of mountains, dueling banjos, or barefoot children? Even though I'm a native of Appalachia, the word has such vast implications and meaning-that it's hard to get my mind around it all. If you're a follower of the Blind Pig. Today February 1, 2011 begins my series of photographs titled ". Appalachia Through My Eyes. Interested in seeing the rest of the photos in the series? I really like ...

Lise's Log Cabin Life. Our life living off the land in our log cabin, breathing fresh mountain air, and getting back to basics. Friday, May 3, 2013. Our Garden Fence and Rustic Gate. Last year, we had dastardly little critters come into the garden and nibble. On our freshly sprouting veggies, so this year we decided to build a fence around the entire garden with a rustic entry gate. You know all those weeds you see? Have no fear, they are being removed. I have hoed them and am going to get them out o...

Well…for the most part I feel pretty good. My only complaint would be EXHAUSTION! And a little mid-afternoon sickness here and there too. 2lbs…and my favorite jeans are getting to be not so comfy :(. Food likes or dislikes? I want Taco Bell like crazy! Want to know a secret? There is so much going on right now ...

The Life and Times of Buffy Sue
The Life and Times of Buffy Sue. Thursday, January 1, 2015. It is the start to a new year once again. Time for new beginnings, changes, and just over all a fresh start. The last year held a lot for us between reconnecting with a high school friend, taking care of health issues, and making job changes. All of these were actually good things. The health issues reconnected us with the friend, so that is a bonus in my book. So, where am I working now? I am working for the school corporation. I started wi...

I love my life and want to share it! August 27, 2011. We are back from a fabulous vacation! It may not have been a trip around the world, Disneyland, etc., but it was exactly what we needed… To get away! A big thank you goes out to Pastor Jon’s Mom, who allowed us to stay at her beach house in Ocean Shores, WA! We finally found it, unpacked and went to bed! We spent the next few days exploring (saw tons of deer), playing (and digging the car out of) the sand, swimming in the ocean, driving up and down th...

I have a post over on my friend OutsideMom.com's blog today about letting the kids get muddy, and being 'that mom' at the playground. Check it out! My lack of blogging is not due to lack of material. Rather, we've just been too busy soaking up summer with outings and adventures to sit down and type about it. Here are some photos from our adventure last week at Poe Valley State Park. Roo and Doodle on the nature trail. A one-mile loop, we spent three hours(! Current photo of our tomato jungle. I'm glad we...
