http://canberrandoggybags.blogspot.com/2010/06/chicken-palava-isnt-actually-from-part.html
Discovering memorable experiences and awesome food in surprising corners of Canberra and sharing some of my own stuff along the way. Monday, June 21, 2010. So I saw this chicken palava recipe and, after momentarily giving in to all the warm fuzzies, I thought ’Oh yes! This is one to make.’. Isn’t palava a great word? It was well-received even though I forgot to put in the key vegetable that makes it African, that being spinach (kale, if you can get it! I was so tempted to add lime to this dish, with the ...

The notice was of the funeral and it was the. what do you call it? Thats not right, what is it called for a Funeral? Posted by The Funny Farm @ 8:48 AM. Meanwhile the mo...

The Funny Farm: July 2006

Thursday, July 20, 2006. Will Shoey ever learn? An addit to my coffee cake scenario. Shoey sitting next to me on his computer a moment ago, playing some war game thingy said out of the blue "I thought coffee cake had nuts in it". Grrrr. I forgot the nuts. Then to add insult to injury he casually mentions: "and doesn't it usually have a swirly sort of colour to it? He sounds so convincing too! Posted by The Funny Farm @ 9:29 PM. I decided to bake a coffee cake for brunch tomorrow (hello girls! Then laughe...

Discovering memorable experiences and awesome food in surprising corners of Canberra and sharing some of my own stuff along the way. Monday, July 26, 2010. Terry's Pizza- a gift from me to you. Terry’s is an institution in my li’l hometown of Gunnedah, a pretty town 45 minutes west of the country music capital Tamworth. When we lived in Gunnedah for two years, we got Terry’s every Sunday night after church, when the kids were asleep, (so all the more for us). It was my comfort food of choice! Terry hadn&...

Discovering memorable experiences and awesome food in surprising corners of Canberra and sharing some of my own stuff along the way. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Two friends and I dined at The Italian Kitchen. In Kaleen last night. It all started out so quietly, but in the end there was so much going on, I actually left the restaurant without paying for my meal! Add to the mix that we were served by the BEST WAITER in Kaleen and that we feasted on succulent dishes plated up Masterchef style. We all chose to...

the babies stole my brain: The World is (Probably) not going to end today
http://babiesstolemybrain.blogspot.com/2011/05/world-is-probably-not-going-to-end.html
The babies stole my brain. Motherhood, senility, life, and jesus. Saturday, May 21, 2011. The World is (Probably) not going to end today. The world is not permanent, as much as we would like it to be. But we should be wary of people who claim that a particular day (like May 21st) is The Day. Jesus knew there were people who wanted to know a Definite Day, so he said this:. Watch out; don't be fooled. Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, I am he! And, The time has come! Quote of the year.

the babies stole my brain: June 2009

The babies stole my brain. Motherhood, senility, life, and jesus. Sunday, June 21, 2009. In the midst of the avalanche of parenting theories, how-to manuals, educational helps and self-help books, there is something more important to remember. As I look back at my grandmothers' lives, and the lives of my grandfathers, one thing remains with me - an example I want to pass on (though I fail too often at this, in the business of life). Their example can also be seen in John Piper's tribute to his father.
