It’s something I don’t have much of, something that I envy. My birthday is coming up. Prior to having kids, it never meant much. Well, it meant something probably until I was 25, when you could rent a car at a lower rate, ha. After that, the next milestone is what? Is that retirement age? Archive for May, 2015. Resurfacing for a moment. It’s been a few years since I’ve written on this thing. I’ve been working trauma nights for the last few weeks, which mostly has reduced life to work, preparing for weekly lectures, and sleeping. Lather, rinse, repeat. The one night off a week is spent trying to stay awake at night, watching the city fall asleep at my lunchtime , inevitably screwing up my sleep schedule and showing up to work exhausted the next day. I finish a 24 hr shift and think,. Snippets from the dream:. 8211; playing onstage for a huge concert. as part of it, two girls sang “toxic” and etern was playing the drums. 8211; big massacre/disaster in some building, had to run around triaging people and take them to the OR. 8211; had to make new scantron sheets because the old ones weren’t working. 8211; my dad texting me the blood culture results on one of our patients, so we could narrow down our antibiotics.
