I frequently commit myself to making desserts for family gatherings without having the smallest idea as to what I should make. This happened to me this past weekend. I wanted something summery and hopped on TasteSpotting. To see what was trending in the foodie world and quickly came across a recipe for Pao de Lo (Portuguese Sponge Cake) with Vanilla Bean Pastry Cream. 2 cups whole milk.

The recipe is quite easy and the result is a perfect scone, which could be dressed up any which way you'd like or could dream of. Sorry, I don't have a picture. In going through chocolate cake recipes this weekend for inspiration, I came across this recipe for a Campfire Delight. Cake It is a a six layer chocolate cake with toasted marshmallow filling and malted chocolate frosting. It looked so delicious, I just had to make it. Luckily, I had a family bbq to attend and thus had an immediate reason to bake it! Rich and Dark Chocolate Cake. 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour.

Where good food makes anything better. Monday, November 30, 2009. I missed posting yesterday; oops. After Thanksgiving and the days after, I was just exhausted. I'm still tired, so forgive me. I'll slowly post my recipes for Thanksgiving since everything. Was homemade, down to the chicken stock that went into the gravy. I went insane and it was marvelously fun, but I was oh-so-tired afterwards. Pie crust is easy. Easy as pie. I found this recipe. Ages ago and saved it for the day I would be brave enough.

Sunday, 17 April 2011. I'm having trouble carrying a thought out for more than a few sentences. It was strange going back to work after Becky. Returned home to Chicago. However, I've since been resolved to get out of the house more. There's so many cool things to do nearby - I need to experience more of them. Probably one that I don't need to experience more of is Casa Bonita. Which is supposedly a restaurant but more likely, as one disenchanted employee put it, the lovechild of DisneyLand and Tijuana.

Monday, 28 June 2010. I'm sitting at a desk, filling in for the receptionist (who's gone home with a sore throat and no voice) at the temp agency I've been using to find work. Unusual. I also found out today that I'm the top candidate for one of the jobs I interviewed for - so that's exciting! Things about Denver I'm getting used to. Yes, preposition at the end):. Mama Sara Education Foundation for Maasai School Children er Norges minste hjelpeorganisasjon med base i Kautokeino, og jobber aktivt med å hjelpe masaibarn i Tanzania med skolegang. I 2007 fikk 15 barn skolegang gjennom organisasjonen og fra januar 2010 sender vi 50 barn og unge på skole.
