Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Tony likes to poke fun at my nightstand items because, apparently, having a book, night guard and glass of water means 30 going on 60]. A few months ago, I was inspired by watching the Ted Talks on. The Power of Vulnerability. Given by Brene' Brown. I went on to watch a few of her Super Soul Sunday. Talks with Oprah before going out and buying her book,. You should read it. You can borrow my copy]. It has given me a healthy new approach to issues I struggle with. Nothing has t...

The Speck Family: March 2015

Sunday, March 29, 2015. Kendall had her third surgery on Monday, March 16th at Gillette Children's. Let me back up and explain that after her last surgery [two years ago] Kendall was left with an 8" incision on the top of her head that, over the course of this time period, has stretched to a 12" line of scar tissue. The scar healed well and looked. Good, except in the back corner where it stretched under pressure, leaving Kendall with a noticeable bald spot since hair does not grow on the scar tissue.

Living a life of hope. Author Archives: The Bohle's. August 5, 2016. 9 months. Wow. Harrison is growing faster than I realize. Since summer has started, I’ve been able to slow down in our daily pace and really enjoy the laid back summer days with the boys. It’s hard to believe that Harrison is almost 1! It seems like just yesterday it was last summer and I was 7 months pregnant! Whew–time needs to slow down. This month has been a big month for being mobile! One of Harrison’s most favorite activity? Harri...

Living a life of hope. Oh, so you…. Food justice. →. August 17, 2014. Summer is coming to an end. Whether I like it or not. Stores have their back to school sales, I’ve spend 20some hours in my classroom preparing for my new batch of 1st grades, and the temperatures are reflecting fall rather than summer. Right now, the end of summer is feeling a little more bitter than normal. I think it’s because I have loved every second of being home with August (aside from tantrums and meltdowns). I kn...You are com...

The Speck Family: November 2014
http://tonyandchristyspeck.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. The guys had a most-successful hunting season in Illinois this year. All three men brought home a deer. The guys enjoyed their hunting weekend and the hunters-in-training enjoyed themselves too. Shelby, my mom and I managed the munchkins, who had a great time in the great outdoors. Lots of easy entertainment at Grandma and Papa's. And the Greenville College gym! My dad made trails in the backyard woods for his four-wheelers,. Which, of course, was a huge hit]. Uncle Shane and t...

Living a life of hope. Blog saturated mom. →. September 7, 2014. This post is a little different than most of my posts on here. I typically give updates on life with August–telling about his milestones and how we are consuming our days with him. But, I thought I’d share a bit of what has been on my mind lately. With every soapbox I stand on, I try to think of a solution. I guess for now, my solution is to care. To care for those people and care enough to try and walk alongside others. To care...Thanks fo...

Living a life of hope. Bohle family christmas letter. →. November 18, 2014. This time of year, you hear over and over what are you thankful for? It’s something I ask my students, reflect on for myself and have been asking August. The coworkers who greet me with a hug and smile everyone morning. A teaching team where we sit hours upon hours sharing ideas, planning lessons, and supporting one another. The students in my class who daily set an example of Christ-like love and service for one another&...Think...
