I am so glad you are still waiting for me here.”. 8220;Why did I ask you to meet me here? 8220;So simple, my dear. Do you remember what was so essential to foundries at the time? Yes Besides the iron ore, the charcoal and the limestone? One interesting point: Since th...

I'm French/citizen of the world. I'm a free-lance photographer. And I love to tell stories. Ⓒmammodouyblogspot2009 ⒸThestoryteller2009. A World of Romance. When I was a teenager, growing up without a TV, I spent my free time reading. I am much older. I still don’t have a TV and I still spend much of my free time reading. Fifty years ago, I immersed myself in Russian literature. I was a very passionate fifteen years old girl. I met them in the early 1990s when it became much easier for Poles to travel to ...

This story happened quite a long time ago. Those were times when I was still using my traditional Hasselblad a lot. Hence the square pictures, my Hasselblad being a 6x6 camera. I am sure it was the 15th of August. How can I be so sure so many years later besides the fact that I always file my pictures? Well to get b...

So there we were. In London. Safe and sound. The tunnel did not collapse while we were crossing the Channel. And St Pancras International left me open-mouthed! Those of you who are unlucky enough to land in Paris at Gare du Nord from Northern Europe or Great-Britain will understand what I mean. 8220;Par ici la sortie!

I'm French/citizen of the world. I'm a free-lance photographer. And I love to tell stories. Ⓒmammodouyblogspot2009 ⒸThestoryteller2009. In 2010, I wrote a post about my encounter with one of the con men. Who were trying to make money out of rings. This was happening in Paris but it was still very occasional. Three years later, you can’t walk in Paris in a tourist spot without hearing a ring jingling right by you and then a whining woman’s voice trying to call your attention to this godsend. I was walking...

Laytonology: Marnie's First Report
http://myrnalayton.blogspot.com/2014/01/marnies-first-report.html
Monday, January 13, 2014. Marnie was still five years old when she started school. There was no kindergarten class for her; she went straight to Grade One. Her teacher was Mrs. Ellensburg. Mrs. Ellensburg was old. She had gray hair and wore glasses. She could sometimes be mean, but most of the time was nice. Marnie did not mind staying home because she could lay in bed or on the couch and read lots of books! Mrs Ellensburg announced that all the children would be writing a report. The report was abou...

Sunday, August 14, 2011. The Edition You All Been Waiting For - Day Two In Paris. His friend repairs guitars and one of Popeye’s hobbies is collecting guitars. Popeye was telling me about a late fifties Fender bass that he picked up that needed some repairs so he gave it to his friend to repair. We left around nine for a village by the name of St-Nom-la-Bretèche. Which is close to Versailles. The above pictures are of St-Nom-la-Bretèche. Popeye then took us to see the rich area where an 800 sq. ft...

Friday, January 30, 2015. My third cousin once removed, Noel, posted some pictures on Facebook today of her great-grandmother, the one that I knew is related to me because she is a Holdaway. Noel was in my ward in North Orem, and we discovered our relationship thanks to one of Nancy's Hancock Hummer articles, the one about our Mayflower ancestors. David happened to mention that story in elder's quorum one day, and Noel's husband was like, "Hey that is my wife's family, too! It hardly seems possible!
Laytonology: February 2015
http://myrnalayton.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 22, 2015. Our home teacher, George, is about 85 years old, give or take a year. He is a quiet and humble man, but when he tells a story, it is a good idea to listen, because it is going to be good. So he got on the horse and rode around some, further out, but no sign of the cow. So, sitting on the horse, again he prayed, "Heavenly Father, thank you for the horse. But now, I don't know where to look for the cow. Can you help me with that? I would not want to have to clean that up! This is...

Friday, November 28, 2014. So, viola congress. I love the moist sea-level air! I love the beauty and the cobblestone, and the feeling of being in a place with a long history. I am staying at the seminario, the Catholic seminary, and our congress events take place in a monastery! That serves the upper levels. I am just pleased with myself for being quite comfortable about finding my way around, and walking to and from the monastery, even in the dark. It is a lovely city. Saturday, November 8, 2014. Just f...

http://myrnalayton.blogspot.com/2015/08/another-family-gathering.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Michelle with Rachael, me trying to get Leon to look at the camera, Alice giving Michael big hugs, and Matthew actually looking at the camera- Michael's friend Jamie was taking the picture. Matthew, Alice and I taking selfies while waiting for their mom. Since I am not good at selfies, the result is about what you would expect. I wanted to get a good picture of Michael and Alice, but I missed the best shot and ended up with something very blurry! Josie takes a turn juggling Leon.
Laytonology: Marnie and the Bully (part two)
http://myrnalayton.blogspot.com/2014/02/marnie-and-bully-part-two.html
Saturday, February 15, 2014. Marnie and the Bully (part two). On the way home that night, almost everyone on the bus asked Marnie about her head. That big white bandage wrapped around like a turban drew lots of attention. When Marnie, Arwen, Collette and Brian got off the bus and started down the driveway, they could see Mommy looking out the kitchen window, an anxious look on her face. She met them at the door. “Marnie! 8221; she fussed, “Nurse Gamble phoned about your head. What happened? She did not e...
