PASSIONATE PURPOSEFUL POETRY. Follow Me On My Journey. From The Page To The Stage. Wednesday, 8 September 2010. Frantically searching for a tail comb or hair pin to pierce the outer layer of the artificial hair, then manoeuvring my way through the required track and cornrow. In frustration, searching pitifully for my scalp. Scratching manically like my head harbours fleas. all because of this WEAVE! So you must be wondering: "WHY inflict this upon yourself then? I could have put my hair in twisted or bra...

http://blackfeminists.blogspot.com/2012/04/0-false-18-pt-18-pt-0-0-false-false.html
Tuesday, 17 April 2012. FGM is not a piece of cake. Yesterday another tremor occurred. Another ripple of racism, just one of the many ripples that hide under the guise of humanitarianism or in this case Art. This is an excerpt from a Swedish news website today (below) and here an article from AlJazeera. According to sources the Minister of Culture was invited to initiate the party by doing a ”clitoridectomy” on the cake.’. Not only should the insensitive people cutting the cake be ashamed the artist shou...

NOTE TO SELF | Roundhouse kicks!
http://roundhousepoetry.blogspot.com/2010/04/note-to-self.html
Tuesday, 20 April 2010. I left home to build a home that I can call my own. Devouring time I worry about money that I've blown. Booze, weed, clothes, food. Unessesary sun holidays sold on the promise of hordes of women,. When all i ever got was sun burn, food poisening and flashing cigarette lighters,. From a deaf, dumb and blind mute,. Whilst eating some greasy English food,. I swear that dood could see. Home aint home anymore. Home belongs to Mum and Dad. Proud owners and rightly so. Well i do mind,.

April 2010 | Roundhouse kicks!
http://roundhousepoetry.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Monday, 26 April 2010. Wearing your mother’s clothes because. At that age no one defines beauty more than her. It’s the first time you realise parents are just humans. And prone to making mistakes. Poetry is loving just for the sake of it. Unrequited love. Only confessed to empty rooms at night. It’s 70’s blaxploitation films. All pomp and swagger. Poetry is placing your hands in a cold stream of tap water. When the days heat up because the sun is back from hiatus. It is the string of thoughts in my head.

PASSIONATE PURPOSEFUL POETRY. Follow Me On My Journey. From The Page To The Stage. Tuesday, 22 November 2011. There's a tiny dragonfly trapped in my head. Dragonflies are harmless. right? Must have found it's way there during one of my absences. Apocalypse could come and go and I wouldn't even know it. The wily dragonfly bounces aimlessly from wall to wall. It's spindly legs poking at hairline fractures. It's delicate limbs widening the cavities. Then pokes, scrapes. Hurling itself at my logic. Anyone th...

Blackfeminists: September 2011
http://blackfeminists.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, 17 September 2011. Kanazawa is just a racist who went as far as to get a phd in order to impress upon the world his prejudiced views. It was a hugely insulting piece and entirely irrelevant to any questions of importance today, or yesterday, or indeed for tomorrow, but there we have it. A publicly funded (mostly - ha! Ugly while all other women at least have something of the aesthetic to recommend themselves. Hugely sexist, hugely racist. This much is obvious. I had stopped obsessing about how ...

Blackfeminists: Feminism is not All White
http://blackfeminists.blogspot.com/2012/04/feminism-is-not-all-white.html
Tuesday, 10 April 2012. Feminism is not All White. Lexy Topping’s article in yesterday’s Guardian. Is cited as the source of information about ‘dozens of new feminist organisations springing up around the UK’. The recent ‘three little pigs’ advertising campaign (promoting open journalism as a means of representing different perspectives) puts The Guardian. The contact details of a representative of the Women's Networking Hub. Would overlook these, and many other important groups. 10 April 2012 at 07:13.
