I know the new generation can't imagine the time when there aren't any cameras (not to mention cameras which use 35mm film). Until 1988 we didn't have a camera of our own, even then none of us used to use the cameras as carelessly as we do now. A ball which look like an elephant. Ended-up playing cricket with it. He is a famous Hollywood actor, and famously known for his role in television show M*A*S*H* (1972-83). Even though I like his acting, I am fan of Alan Alda not because of it, rather because of his intellectual curiosity. I used to watch his shows on PBS few years ago, Scientific American Frontiers. Here is an excerpt from the latest episode - "Brain Matters'.

Ever since I read parts of it in my 10th grade Telugu textbook, I always wondered about what prompted Gurram Joshua to name his khanda kavyam, Gabbilam. BTW, Gabbilam was subtitled thusly:. Gasari busakoTTunAtani gAli sOka. NAlgu paDagala haindava nAgarAju". And the cover work depicts a four-headed snake (nAgarAju) angrily hissing at a skinny half-naked man dressed only in loin-cloth. It's not that I haven't had a happy childhood or college days - I did. But, somehow, I tend to think very little of the past. And, I do wonder whether it is to my own detriment!
