A Day in the Life of....: September 2014

Sunday, September 28, 2014. The Tale of Two Pregnancies. They say every pregnancy is different, and that couldn't be any truer for me. Of course there are the obvious differences for me: some kind of an idea of what is going on, less fear, and the big change; this one was planned. But this time around I have been blessed when a few new surprises. I was able to hide Cade until around week 15. Baby Dos popped at 10 weeks. So much so my co-workers were all looking at me a little funny. Of course...So what o...

Thursday, August 27, 2015. The Many Phases of Deployments. It doesn't seem to matter how long or how far away the deployments are they all seem to have the same phases. Phase 1: I am Amazing. This phase is where the person left behind is so pumped and ready for anything that might come. There has been prep done. Plans made. No matter the length of time it seems doable. I mean we have done it before. Phase 2: Wow, look at. Phase 3: Pretending to be Okay. Phase 4: Why Does This Seem so Hard. This phase com...

A Day in the Life of....: November 2014

Sunday, November 9, 2014. Where has my head been lately? Teaching - A struggle. I love teaching. I think my passion is still there. It is just I feel like I do so little actual teaching. As I said above I have yet to feel like I found my balance yet, and the scale has been tipped in the way of work. Pregnancy - I still have not come to terms with the biggest news as of late. So where has my brain been lately? Sunday, November 2, 2014. Over the next two weeks Jacob and I worked out our plans, and then it ...

Friday, March 13, 2015. What's in a Name. Because of the thought that went into Cade's name, which you can read about here. Many people have asked how we came up with Ellee's name. We went through the same thought process this time along, except we already had an idea of a girl's name that we liked, since Cade came out a boy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Day in the Life of....: Love, A
http://adayinthelifeof-al.blogspot.com/2015/05/love-a.html
Sunday, May 10, 2015. My mom is probably pretty mad about the use of the picture above. And I can understand why. I mean how dare I put up a picture of her not looking as fabulous as she does now. It is one of my favorite pictures. This picture is also the last picture I know of, that my mother was this size. Soon after this picture was taken she joined Weight Watchers, and became the size that helps her live life more in the moment. I have never seen my mom look this way since. A Day in Life of. A Day in the Life of....: May 2015
http://adayinthelifeof-al.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2015. Have you ever had that moment of clarity when everything seems to fit together? Yay, me either. But, I came really close this evening. Ellee has had a few off days. Jacob's mom came to help us with Cade and Ellee when I went to back to work the first of May. She was able to stay for two weeks. Then my mom and Duane came down for a week, which gave Cade and Ellee a whole lot of grandparent. I needed to have Ellee. I don't know what having a second child did to my body and mind, b...

A Day in the Life of....: April 2015
http://adayinthelifeof-al.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 13, 2015. I've been here before. I have been here before. Having a screaming, red faced baby clawing at me. Getting a newborn up and around to fight rush hour traffic to make the first lab appointment available, because I would rather fight traffic than sit in a waiting room because the lab is behind. Piling into an elevator, and getting the look of pity from strangers as I push the 6, because everyone knows level 6 is the cancer floor. Nurse takes my labs. It was me who actually called the...

A Day in the Life of....: With a Name Like That
http://adayinthelifeof-al.blogspot.com/2012/09/with-name-like-that.html
Tuesday, September 4, 2012. With a Name Like That. The duty of naming a child, was very serious to me. It was one of the first things I actually tried wrapping my brain around in January, when we found out Cade was on the way. Giving a child a name was a task I didn't take lightly. I wanted something with meaning, individuality, and strength. I wanted others to hear the name and think "Wow, with a name like that anything is possible". They knew Trisha. With me. it was which Amanda? He is so stinking cute!
