چه ادم ساده ای هستم؟ پیرمردی بود که دردنیا جز باغ گلش چیزی نداشت. آنقدر به آن باغ می رسید که همتایی نداشت. وقتی قدم به باغش میگذاشت. گویی دربهشت برین قدم میگذاشت. درباغش گلهای رنگارنگ و زیبا داشت. پیرمرد هرگلی درباغچه داشت. یک روز درمیان گلهایش شقایق هم کاشت. او به این که باید عاشق بود یقین داشت. اودرتنهایی همصحبتی جز گلهایش نداشت. با آنها حرف میزدو جایش جواب می خواست. پیرمرد آنقدر باغچه را دوست داشت. که هرروز صبح در آن گلی می کاشت. یک روز پیرمرد سخت مریض بود و تب داشت. پیرمرد مرد و گلها دگر صاحب نداشت.
