In Case You were Wondering. Musings, News, and other Whatnot from Marleta's little corner of the world. Friday, March 21, 2014. A Breath of Fresh Air. Three and a half years after buying this house, we finally cleaned up the yard! I had done a little to clean out a few things over the years, but my small efforts didn't make a big difference in the overall appearance of the lawn. This week we brought out the professionals, and here are the results. Now we're all ready for Spring! Labels: Home Sweet Home.

My sisters-in-law hosted a shower with family and close friends and had everyone bring recipes with them and then I received a box of recipes from a co-worker and some recipes from a few other friends included in our wedding gifts. I was so grateful to get all of those, because I really do love to be in the kitchen! That there were 51. I was searching through different cooking quotes this afternoo...

http://lauraelizabeth1201.blogspot.com/2015/07/cooking-up-memories-chocolate-sheet-cake.html
July 9, 2015. Cooking up Memories: Chocolate Sheet Cake. This recipe was gifted to me by David's Aunt Jarla. She brought this recipe along with 2 of the cake pans she uses to the shower and I've used the pans a lot. But hadn't yet made this cake. I knew it was one that I would love, but since it probably wouldn't be high on David's list I was waiting for the right time to make it for a group, otherwise I'd end up eating almost an entire cake by myself (and it's so delicious that I probably would have!

And this was no exception. It was good meal for a cozy night at home. Cook pasta, drain.

April 16, 2015. We are heading out this morning to join my family in remembering my Grandpa. He took his final breaths here this past Sunday and is now pain free and complete in the presence of Jesus. I wrote at the beginning of March about our visit with him after they began hospice care. It was a very sweet day with our family. But I came home the next day to the realization that that was probably the last time I would see him. And that hit me hard. And thou most kind and gentle Death,. Dad I was able ...

I took the day off of work and John didn't schedule any work. It was a Wednesday, so that made 2, 2-day weeks on either side of my birthday. We slept in. for a little bit at least. And there was a snowman! In my opinio...
