Monday, April 02, 2012. We finished it last week, but I had to wait for the weekend to find time to take photos! Here's a quick how-to for those that are interested. 1) Drink lots of wine, save all corks. 2) Measure your backsplash, cut 1/4" plywood to match. (We cut ours into 3 separate pieces to make it easier to install.). The best thing for me was to press down gently on one side, score the end so you keep it even, and then finish on the other side (no sawing back and forth). 7) Assemble all corks...

Layla's a bit too young to go to a movie theater, but she can watch a movie all the way through so when we saw this ad for a movie night at the community center in our neighborhood we were all in. We went, and had a blast. Layla did great! Probably soon, when she responds to our suggestion to 'shhhhh! We'll be able to take her to an official theater. In the 'hood of Wallingford.

Public health in Atorkor Village. March 26, 2011. Portland: Home sweet home! All of those things will take a some more adjusting, but I am looking forward it! It's certainly nice to be home. I couldn't wait to eat "normal" food again, but now I am just happy to have the convenience of eating essentially whatever I want- there is so much more variety than my diet in the village! I plan on making Ghanaian meals on occasion, to get my fix of fried plantain and some of my favorite main dishes. March 11, 2011.
