Truthfully, I am teary eyed. Change is hard sometimes. Not because I'm sad, I'm not. I'm very much looking forward to being with my son. It's just weird how my life will be so very different. But change is normal. Change is. But, as I sit here taking it all in, I realize that the ONLY constant thing in our lives is the Lord.

8220;Mommy the Cake is Falling”. Eliza and I made a layer cake to celebrate Meredith’s 30th birthday in June. It was a hot day (like every day this summer) and we left the iced cake in the kitchen while we ate our meal. Friday, November 28, 2008. Thanksgiving at the Beach! The family rolled in to Pensacola and Elijah immediately let everyone know that only thing he needed to do was see the beach. How could you argue with that? It turned out to be a lovely day here, about 71 degrees, so i agreed to take him out there. Mom was exhausted from the drive down, so she opted to stay back. I'm sitting here in my empty apartment. 611 is no longer my dwelling. it's definitely bittersweet, because i LOVE this apartment. it has so much personality and is just great. BUT, having your own home, must be better. i can't wait to live there too. This is the front door to my building. i like the downtown feel, in such a teensy downtown. I had set the deadline to have it mostly finished (walls, ceiling, paint, floor, trim, etc.) by the time Matilda was born, so that we could immediately enjoy the extra space. Birmingham or Bust (or Baby? Unfortunately, Federer bailed (because he was scared? The Davis Cup tournament is a fun experience because, as opposed to a normal tennis event with mild clapping and no real rooting interest, the crowd can get behind their countrymen, make lots of noise, and celebrate in a way uncommon to the sport.
