simplicity from chaos: April 2010

Sunday, April 25, 2010. Alan Wake - A Game that Might Happen? To start, I'd like to say that all signs indicate that I will be purchasing the game Alan Wake, which is slated to come out on May 18 of this year. Mike and I have been talking about this game since it's initial announcement in 2005. Michael had been a proponent from the get go, to me it looked all right, but I wasn't quite as enthused. Now, I understand what I wrote makes very little sense to anyone. I was sending the email to Mike who ha...

simplicity from chaos: February 2009
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 1, 2009. I've been busy, so instead of posting real things. I'm going to just post random Google Chat conversations I've had. With Mike. I do this because I think we're quite funny, and I feel it's a shame not to share our comedic genius with the world. For your viewing pleasure. Today, I'll be posting from a conversation from November 10th, 2008. This is near the end of the conversation:. Are you being serious? Like 2 = D in my brain for some reason. And 9 = F. Midas has it now, I think.

simplicity from chaos: August 2011
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 11, 2011. In a recent discussion with Mike it was determined that there is not a word that indicates the state of needing to urinate. He had initially suggested that such a word might be 'peeey' but that seems unnecessarily cumbersome. More so than the word 'unnecessarily'. I assume this post will remedy that condition, however. simplicity from chaos: The Love of my Life
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2010/05/love-of-my-life.html
Thursday, May 13, 2010. The Love of my Life. It has come to my attention that I do not talk about Manda, my fiancée, on this blog or anywhere else for that matter. As it turns out, she’s plenty ok with it. What can I say about my Manda? She’s the first person to make me truly happy in a very long time. She doesn’t stir emotions that I think are happiness or want to be real, but instead she truly makes me happy. Deep down, in my core. With Manda I can explore. I’ve never known anyone else who is...Most of...

simplicity from chaos: A Semi-Brief History of a Friendship – Part 1
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2010/05/semi-brief-history-of-friendship-part-1.html
Friday, May 14, 2010. A Semi-Brief History of a Friendship – Part 1. Recently I was writing a random ‘blog’ post to test settings on a podcast Mike and I have tentatively decided to work on which gave me pause. I poked fun at the fact that one oldest and best friends has a very poor memory for details, going so far as to say he suffers from anterograde amnesia. 8230;Mike and I did some discussing and recorded it. The process resulted in some interesting revelations. So, I submit a concise and utterly inc...

simplicity from chaos: Alan Wake Update / Potential Migration / Big News
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2010/05/alan-wake-update-potential-migration.html
Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Alan Wake Update / Potential Migration / Big News. I thought I would update my readers (both of you) on the fact that I have pre-ordered a game for the first time ever. I went into Gamestop in Rogers and gave them a $10 bill for the purpose of reserving the Collector's Edition of Alan Wake. What do I get in return? The advantage of moving is control. I'd be running word press instead of blogger and since I'd be on my own server it would give me a little more control. I'm 29 years o...

simplicity from chaos: March 2009
http://fyrephlie.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 22, 2009. And here's why I love craigslist. Friday, March 20, 2009. Protesting Call of Duty: World at War? At Joystiq discusses a high school student's protest of Call of Duty: World at War's dog killing. This is a minor element of the game, and takes place specifically in context. She says, "Killing animals should not be a form of entertainment.". So, my question is: It's not ok to kill a couple of dogs in a video game, but killing literally thousands of people in the same game is cool?
