This week in English, Year 4 have been looking at the arguments for staying/leaving the EU, in preparation for the upcoming Referendum (23rd June 2016). Look at what we have been up to! Archive for September, 2014. Welcome to the new Year 4! Monday, September 22nd, 2014. This term our topic is ‘Lights, Camera, Action! 8217; We will be studying shadows, the history of silent movies and even have a go at creating our own. So far we have looked at what a shadow is, how they are formed, and how they change depending on the position of the sun. We had some fun lessons experimenting outdoors and here are a few pictures to show what we have been doing.

Look at what we have been up to! Laquo; Terrible Tudors. Orienteering at Fairlop Waters ». The week beginning 2nd of February was Manford’s Poetry Week. It was launched with a visit from the children’s poet, Ian Bland. Ian worked with the children during a poetry workshop where they created ‘What am I? 8217; poems. The children had a great time learning not only how fun poetry can be but also how easy it could be to write a short poem. You can follow any responses to this entry through the RSS 2.0.

Look at what we have been up to! Laquo; Poetry Week. Orienteering at Fairlop Waters. Earlier this month, Year 4 went orienteering, which was a LOT of fun! After walking sensibly to Fairlop Waters, each class was split into 3 teams. After an introduction on whic h way up to hold our maps and finding our starting point, we had to find our way from one numbered post to the next using our maps to guide us. We tried to race each other to be the first class back to the hut, before it started to rain!

Keep up to date with our work! Science and Discovery Week. 17-03-2015 13:05:10 No Comments. Last week was Science and Discovery week at Manford. We learned lots by joining in with the investigations in the playground each morning and loved the experiments that Nitro Nick did in Friday’s assembly. We also put lots of effort into our outfits on Friday. Year 3 children dressed as famous scientists, skeletons, magnets among other great costumes! We tried hard to figure out how to make our circuit complete.

Nursery and Reception News. Come and find out what we have been doing! Animal Week – 27th April 2015. We would like to thank all the parents, carers and children who sent in cakes, 50p for dressing up or raised sponsorship money for the RSPCA, it all helps to support animal welfare as well as teaching our children about charity and to think of others. St George’s Day. We then moved onto fictional bears and we have focused on the book ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ and Paddington bear. Bears in the snow!

Year 3 and 4 Production. In March 23, 2016 · Filed under Uncategorized. ONCE UPON A CRIME’. It certainly would have been a crime to have missed this great show! As usual all children in years 3 and 4 were involved, learning so many words and songs and performing them with enjoyment and enthusiasm. A lot of hard work by children and staff certainly paid off. Good fun. Well done. June Thomas – Governor. I am sure all the parents must have felt proud of this standard of presentation by pupils and staff.
