Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Today I am going to drop some knowledge about the great Pioppini mushroom. Pioppini are a member of the shimeji family which also includes Brown Clamshell and White Clamshell mushrooms. Pioppini basically have the same flavor as porcini mushrooms but are more peppery. Pioppini are often used in stir-fry dishes because of their firm texture and you can use the whole mushroom as in cap, stem, etc. Fresh and ready to go. Monday, January 9, 2012. Monday, February 27, 2012. The Yellow Oysters are here. Here is a simple recipe to try at home. 2/3 cup basmati rice. Salt and pepper to taste. One bunch of yellow oyster mushrooms. Rinse off the rice, and pour it in 1 cup of water. Cut the mushroom bunch in half and add it to the rice. Bring the rice to a boil (or turn on the rice steamer!
