Fall Foliage In Manitou Springs. Colorado definitely has a short but very pretty autumn color season. Probably the most notable trees are golden aspens in the mountains. That turn bright gold. Manitou Springs Carnivale Festival. Manitou Springs is well-known for its odd, quirky and highly entertaining annual festivals, and one of my favorites is the Manitou Carnivale. I snapped this photo of the hippies banging their drums from the 2004 parade. I love this photo!

Rainbow Falls . Beneath The Highway. Rainbow Falls is such an amazing place. Fountain Creek takes a significant drop of maybe 50 to 60 feet on the west end of Manitou Springs (outside of Manitou's city limit). It can be accessed off of Serpentine Road at the one and only hard switchback. I snapped this photo of Rainbow Falls while hiking to it on a summer day. Steve (June 12, 2006).
