Thursday, March 20, 2014. SQL Server Cluster information. I find the following query very handy in order to find out SQL server cluster side of information. The only drawback is that I need to know the number of nodes if I need to run this on SQL 2000 (and change the query accordingly). This is not the case for SQL 2005 and above as it just uses DMVs for higher versions of SQL. For SQL server 2000. N'SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control ComputerName ComputerName'. Thursday, August 11, 2011. SQL 2005 installation and number of physical or logical processors. I came across an error during a SQL 2005 installation which I think was really odd. I was installing SQL server 2005 for a log shipping DR server and the installation failed complaining SQL server failed to start. After some Google'ing I came across this link. Which explains that SQL Server 2005 installation fails when installing it on a machine with odd number of physical or logical processors.
