The romani guy: downgrade?
http://romani10.blogspot.com/2012/06/downgrade.html
The adventure begins again! Saturday, June 9, 2012. I was looking at Deb and wondering if I could put her through all this again, with the miserable Texas heat. Also, she rarely escaped the box, and now with no way to drive it, we would have to be parked in a plug-in site to have air conditioning. I guess the decision was made for me. The box had to go. At what cost? So, the adventure continues, with a few forks (thanks, Brian) in the road. June 9, 2012 at 6:15 PM. Wow look at all those windows you have!

The romani guy: August 2011
http://romani10.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
The adventure begins again! Monday, August 29, 2011. OK, what's the deal with this romani stuff anyway? Well, I am a gypsy descendent, and my first name is Guy. But it goes a lot deeper than that. It's also a matter of attitude. Not everyone is cut out for this mode of living. Ya gotta cut everything loose that you did that line dance for, have an adventurous spirit, and most of all. Get down to the heart and soul of your time on earth and what is important. The international Rom flag. With our limited i...

The romani guy: Boondocking batteries
http://romani10.blogspot.com/2012/02/boondocking-batteries.html
The adventure begins again! Tuesday, February 21, 2012. This is pretty much the heart of our system, we have 2 agm batteries wired in parallel, and grounded through the floor of the van to the chassis. It's all wired with 2/0 stranded wiring, and I can isolate each one with the switch that controls battery 1, battery 2, or both together. Each deep cycle agm is rated for 235 amps. I've also gone through a couple of 3 stage "smart chargers," but have found I do not need any more charging capacity than the ...

Visionquest: July 2008
http://visionquestvan.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 30, 2008. Coming to my senses. As for the complex interests, they are all future blog entries so stay tuned. Saturday, July 5, 2008. The question is: Why the need? In simple terms, I believe defining someone in a specific way is a basic method of packaging, summing everything up into one easily handled form. It may be the first logical step to determining how to deal with a new person, but it is full of danger in the form of assumptions. Again I ask, why the need? Great Blogs to visit.

The Tuckerbag: January 2013

January 26, 2013. The Man In The Street Is Fed. Favorite poems from one of my favorite poets. The man in the street it fed. With lies in peace, gas in war,. And he may live now. Just around the corner from you. The only thing he has to sell,. The power of his hand and brain. To labor for wages, for pay,. For cash of the realm. And there are no takers, he can't connect. Maybe he says, "Some pretty good men are on the street.". Maybe he says, "I'm just a palooka. all washed up.". Is young, hard as nails,.

The Tuckerbag: Day #4 and #5: Beveryly Beach to Newport
http://thetuckerbag.blogspot.com/2014/12/day-4-and-5-beveryly-beach-to-newport.html
December 10, 2014. Day #4 and #5: Beveryly Beach to Newport. It didn't rain much during the night, but it was enough to reveal the flaw in my bivy. Somehow, over many years of love, it had ceased to be waterproof and when I touched the sides (which is bound to happen in something resembling a long green coffin) the water would seep in. That's when we discovered the Yurts. I'm not sure why but Oregon state parks love yurts (probably because they're awesome! From the Desk of. Old Fat Man Adventures. Many W...

The Tuckerbag: March 2014
http://thetuckerbag.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
March 28, 2014. Life is like riding a bicycle; to keep your balance you must keep moving.". It's a rainy day here in New Orleans, although after nearly a month in the city I'm realizing that Southern rain and Northern rain are very different things. In the north when it rains it means buckets of fat drops and it lasts all day, but down here rain (at least March rain) means intermittent drizzle or something like a heavy fog. Down the road. It really is an amazing city. From the Desk of. March 21, 2014.

January 25, 2014. Things change. Life doesn't stop for anybody. How have I accumulated so much stuff? I seem to remember saying much the same thing when I moved out of the Jetta, but since I've had a whole room to fill I've managed to collect everything from japanese lanterns to book shelves. Of course when I move I leave with almost nothing so my mission for February is to get rid of it all (and it's been snowing so tossing it on the side of the road with a "FREE" sign won't work).
