I am all alone in the house, my husband is in another corner of Kenya keeping peace and our little princess is asleep. October 2008 saw us packing up our lives in London for a six-month adventure that took us more than 22,000 miles down the east side of Africa. Crossing from Europe into Tunisia we struck east through Libya and Egypt, then south into Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya and beyond, arriving in South Africa in March 2009. The journey became an obsession and represented the culmination of years of planning and dreaming.
