I went to college to be an architect, but was rejected. I transferred to a new college and decided I wanted to be a graphic designer, but hated the gross commercialism, so I switched to textiles. After a few months I dropped out, eventually ended up at Penland School. Where I studied weaving for a year (I owe my sense of detail to this period).
