Step 2: Cut the branches off with an hatchet. (We used a sharp rock, a chisel and a hammer - we don't suggest using these tools, unless you are unemployed and have a lot of time on your hands….like us.). Step 3: Attach the now bare tree to your dinghy. Hooray - it's a mast! Step 6: Duct Tape! Looks like we forgot the keel!

Suffice to say, we'll take calm water and alligators over tonadoes any day. In the photo, I am throwing out a stern anchor so we don't swing while sleeping.
