Mara began engaged primarily in consigned contract work; however, due to increasing customer demand expanded its operation to include full turnkey supply chain solutions. In the summer of 2006, due to increased demand, a third SMT line was added to the manufacturing operation. Adding this third line sacrificed floor space which led Mara management to deciding a larger facility was required to fulfill the requirements of existing customers and to allow for proper growth and expansion.
