Holcomb is working on good habits. There is apparently something out for kids from Steven Covey's habits of highly effective people. So, the first habit they learned was being proactive. 2 students from each class were chosen as being proactive. Courtney was 1 of 2 kids from her class that got the proactive award! Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Maine was so much fun, we went to Cadillac Mtn for the sunrise one morning, spent a day looking for sand dollars at my moms favorite beach- Back Beach, walked some trails, watched the moon rise, ate lobster, has a fish and shrimp fry, shopped. Shannon spent a week with us in July camping. She loves it and we love having her. I have to say though she's 8 going on 28! Jake and Erin and Xander and Maya! Sunday, April 29, 2012. Xander Rides his Pedal Bike. Xander got a new pedal bike for his 3rd birthday, and with training wheels on has been learning to pedal, which he didn't learn on his strider bike. After 4 rides in 4 weeks the training wheels came off. Is he enjoying the new pedal bike? I think the picture speaks for itself. Friday, April 27, 2012. Jake and Erin and Xander and Maya! Thursday, May 24, 2012. Visiting Gran Jen on the Outer Banks. After a great visit with grandpa Jack we drove north and took a ferry from Cedar Island to Ocracoke island. Xander loved the long ferry ride and we had lots of fun chasing each other around the deck. Our first evening in Avon was a lovely dinner at the beach house and then Uncle Rod showed Xander how to light fireworks! I was also doing lots of running, and Xander decided that he wanted to go for runs too....

Friday, October 18, 2013. I don't go to many funerals but felt the need for this one, she touched my heart. Congratulations to Marine graduate Jake! He's the son of friends and graduated at Parris Island today, coming home for a week then off to Pensicola, Fl. He has an aunt nearby down there and his great grandmother who is 100 yrs young. One Sat. morning we watched Landon for a little bit and I took them swimming. It was so fun! While we were swimming Ryan was at home cleaning up the boat so we could take it out that afternoon! Going to the lake has become one of my favorite things about summer! Ryan borrowed some trainer skis from a friend at work and we had talked it up and the girls were ready. Courtney was allllll about it at home and was going to be the first one. However, that all changed when we were out there! Erin and Beau Visit.
